ADVICE FOR WAXING AT HOME

How to Safely Wax at Home

I strongly advise you to abide by these guidelines to wax safely at home;

Ensure the wax has tolerable temperatures; you can test on the hand or wrist. Avoid using overheated wax as it can trigger skin irritation.

I recommend you apply the wax based on the direction in which your hair grows. Don’t double-dip whatever you are using to apply in the wax container to avoid infections from germs or bacteria.

When ready to pluck the hair, place one hand on the skin towards the side where the hair grows and gently but swiftly strip off the wax and hair.

Using lidocaine products before waxing can aid ease the pain.

In between the waxing, you rest for some seconds or a minute before pulling again, soothe the skin with essential oils such as jojoba, argan, and olive oils.

Exfoliating after a day is fit for all. However, you can opt to exfoliate as you wax to remove all ingrown hairs and increase the smooth skin tone.

For people with existing skin conditions, using bleaching, hydroxy acids, chemical peels, and other harsh products, I suggest you skip waxing for around two weeks or till the conditions heal to avoid further skin damage from waxing.
