Also, the non-intoxicating effects of CBD oil have led to an increase in demand for this product. While CBD is touted as good for pain and other common challenges, you might wonder whether CBD oil might help with memory and focus. Generally, there is insufficient scientific evidence crediting CBD oil for memory and focus. Therefore, CBD cannot be conclusively recommended for memory. For instance, Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s diseases and dementia are some of the neurological conditions that detrimentally affect memory and focus. Yet, one study by Kim, Yang  & Yook, et al.,  (2019) cannabinoids in CBD oil could help manage and reduce dementia. Neurotransmitters transmit messages between neurons, and anything that stands in their pathway could affect memory, focus, cognition, and other brain functions. For instance, in the event of imbalance, anandamide ( pain-regulating neurotransmitters) breaks down, and so do beta-amyloid. These proteins are important for communication in the brain, and their breakdown is toxic, releasing chemicals that might affect memory and focus. Therefore anything that would protect neurotransmitters might boost memory and focus. According to Singh, & Neary, (2020), CBD has neuroprotectant properties and will prevent the breakdown of substances that release chemical compounds. Besides CBD oil, it has ginkgo, Gotu kola, Bacopa monnieri, rosemary, and L-theanine, related to cognitive functions. Nonetheless, there is a need for further studies to prove that these ingredients may benefit the brain for focus and memory. Furthermore, the ingredients are added in trace amounts, which may not yield substantial benefits.


People use CBD oil for different reasons, including boosting memory and focus. However, there is insufficient scientific evidence to ascertain CBD oil’s effects on memory and focus. Some studies indicate that CBD oil may have neuroprotectant and anti-anxiety functions that promote focus and memory. Since the FDA does not regulate CBD products, consumers should consult their doctors beforehand.
