StarLight Breeze Guided Meditations

About the Meditation

Relax your body, calm your mind, and soothe your spirit with this guided meditation lecture. Practicing meditation can help with greater mental clarity, resetting, and rebalancing every system in your body. It has a profound, rich, and calming effect, promoting feelings of peace and a sense of awareness.

This guided meditation lecture for ‘Confidence’ will help you to strengthen the belief and assurance in yourself by implementing an effective exercise called anchoring. Many of us struggle with confidence — this can be expressed in many ways, ranging from lack of trust in one’s abilities, physical or emotional qualities, and judgement. Increasing your healthy levels of self-esteem and confidence can help you become successful in your personal and professional life.

This meditation uses a technique called anchoring, a practice through which you are able to achieve a particular emotion (in this case a sense of confidence). Anchoring is a natural process that occurs in our everyday lives without us realising and this is usually through external stimuli such as sound, smell, taste, or sight that creates an emotional reaction. An example of this can be hearing your favourite song on the radio which in turn evokes feelings of joy and excitement, or perhaps the smell of freshly baked bread brings you back the memories of staying at your grandmother’s house during summer. When we are exposed to the stimuli repeatedly over a long period of time, we become anchored to that experience.

This meditation will guide you on a mental journey to recall a moment in your life when you felt extremely confident. This will be supported by encouraging gentle breath-work to further relax you deeper into the meditation, slowing down your mind and helping you achieve inner calm. Whilst maintaining the visualisation in your mind of the time you felt extremely confident, you will be guided to create a physical anchor using your body. These can include a hand gesture or placing your palm upon your heart centre.

This symbol must also be unique to the experience of visualising yourself as confident so that it is not confused with anything else. Once you have created your special anchoring symbol, you will be then encouraged to practice working on the image in your mind when you felt self-assured, positive, and optimistic. Whenever you may come across a situation of self-doubt or uncertainty, you will have your anchor to bring you back to the feelings associated with confidence.

Regular practice can help to reduce everyday anxiety and stress, improve your sleep, energise your body and mood, and ultimately improve your overall health and wellbeing. So breathe in, and may you find stillness within.

The Guided Meditation

Welcome to StarLight Breeze meditations … In this practice, we will explore the topic of confidence by implementing an effective exercise called anchoring … Take the time to find your place of comfort today … Tuck in the chin, extending the length of the spine … Sit up nice and tall … Keeping your shoulders relaxed … Close your eyes … Allow your palms to lay gently in your lap or on your knees … An important element of a good posture is stillness and stability … As you settle yourself into a comfortable position, I would like to invite you to imagine yourself as a mountain … Unmovable, stable, and majestic … Deeply rooted into the earth … Grounded … Maintain the idea of a mountain within your posture if at any point you wish to adjust your body …

And once you begin finding stillness within, invite your attention to focus on the breath … Coming in through the nose … And leaving out through the mouth … Enjoying this moment … This moment of complete freedom … Of relaxation … Breathe in … And breathe out … Your mind becoming lighter … Quieter … Creating a balanced and harmonised environment for yourself now … Finding tranquility in the midst of our busy lives … Breathe in … And breathe out …

This is a moment for you to let your walls down … To show up just the way you are … With an open heart … Observing the way you are feeling right now … If there are any emotions that are louder today than usual … Observing their presence … Not trying to analyse them … Just allowing them to be here … To be accepted … To be welcomed … Breathe in … And breathe out … Releasing any discomfort … Loneliness … Insecurity … Experiencing the present moment, just the way it is … Experiencing the physical body, just the way it is … And experiencing the mind, just the way it is … Everything is right … Everything is just how it should be …

As you become more deeply relaxed … I want you bring to mind a time when you felt extremely confident … Visualise every detail of this experience … As if you were looking through your own eyes … See, hear, and feel emotions of courage … Gratitude … Positivity … Feeling you were completely accepting of yourself in this moment … Extending this acceptance of the past into the present …

There is always something you can love about yourself, even if you don’t think there is … Accepting yourself of just the way you are … Being a great person … Choosing to be happy today and everyday … Embracing feelings of happiness and positivity … Knowing your future is bright and vibrant, full of possibilities … Acknowledging your own self worth … Allow the sense of confidence to fill you completely now, as you take a deep breath in, and release … Being thankful for the breath … Fully alive and present … Experiencing this courage, love, and compassion that confidence brings into your heart …

And now … Notice your your body feels … Notice just how calm you have become … Breathing in gently … And breathing out … Relaxing even deeper here … Letting everything go … Anchoring is a practice through which you are able to increase your confidence overtime … To be more at ease … And to become in better control of yourself and your emotions … And as you keep in mind the time when you felt extremely confident …

I want you to create a gesture with your hands or your body … Something simple and easy to remember … This can be absolutely anything, such as connecting the tips of your thumb and index finger together … Or touching your earlobe … Or placing your palm upon your heart … Ensure that this gesture is a symbol that you would not display normally and it is uniquely dedicated to your anchoring practice … The idea is once you take the action of completing this specific gesture, you will be anchored back to the moment when you felt incredibly confident … Reliving the moment …

Remembering the feelings of pride … Courage … And assurance … When difficult moments may arise in your life, remember that you have an anchor which is always accessible to you to ground you … Use this anchoring gesture when faced with challenging experiences that present negative feelings where gratitude may alleviate them … Take a deep breath in … And a deep breath out … And again … A deep breath in … And a deep breath out …

It is now time to return to your full awareness … Allow your muscles to wake up … All the way from your feet, to your legs … Your arms … Your hands … Move your head from side to side … Observe the calm breath returning to its natural, soothing rhythm … And whenever you are ready, open your eyes … Know that this state of relaxation will remain with you long after this practice … We hope you enjoyed this meditation practice by StarLight Breeze, and may you have a wonderful day.
