DO CBD DISPOSABLES GET YOU HIGH?

CBD disposables are among the products that are fast gaining popularity in the cannabis industry.If you are wondering whether you will get high by vaping CBD disposables, continue reading the blog as it outlines an in-depth analysis of CBD disposables, including the types, dosage, and possible effects of overdosing.

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical compound extracted from the cannabis Sativa plant. It has gained massive popularity as people know the benefits of a few puffs of CBD vape. The compound can relieve pain and inflammation, improve sleep quality and cancer treatment, and reduce anxiety and other body imbalances under research. One of the best ways to incorporate these benefits is vaping CBD disposables. However, there is a fear surrounding vaping CBD, whether it can induce a feeling of highness associated with cannabis smokers. The hemp plant is the leading CBD source in the United States because they are legal under federal law and contains no or little trace psychoactive compound called tetrahydro cannabidiol (THC). Therefore can CBD disposables from the hemp plant cause highness?

What Are CBD Disposables?

Pen et al. (2022) explained that CBD disposables are electronic devices filled with CBD juice/e-liquid heated up to produce vapor inhaled through a small mouthpiece into the lungs. They are a complete system such that the device is disposed of when the vape juice vanishes. The most commonly used CBD disposable is a vape pen and pod. The device consists of three parts, namely:

CARTRIDGE

The part can’t be removed and is connected to a rechargeable battery. Inside the cartridge is the e-liquid and a coil that is heated up but the battery to vaporize the e-liquid.

THE BATTERY

-The battery is the part that makes the entire vaping process possible. Its voltage power ranges from 500 to 1000 watts. Some disposables  contain a push button to ignite the battery, while others you activate the battery by prime puff  (an immature puff before you start vaping)

THE CBD VAPE OIL

CBD vape oil is an e-liquid comprised of highly potent CBD molecules infused with various flavors to mask the unpleasant earthy flavor of cannabis products.

HOW DOES DISPOSABLES CBD MAKE YOU FEEL?

Vaping CBD disposables are the fastest way to diffuse the power of the cannabinoid to your bloodstream. During the nighttime, when you inhale CBD disposables, in less than 3 minutes, you will start feeling relaxed and sleepy. It is because vaped CBD interacts with cannabinoid receptors in the brain neurons to induce a calming effect that makes you fall asleep fast. Ashton & Livvy (2020) showed that inhaling the CBD supplement will increase your body’s energy levels during the day by converting stored body fat into energy through promoting fast metabolic responses. The magic cannabinoid also reduces inflammatory activities in the brain by altering how you perceive negative emotions, thus improving your focus and concentration.

When you vape over 100 puffs of CBD disposables while under chronic pain, concentrated compounds will induce the body receptors responsible for pain management to block the signaling of pain terminals in the nervous system, hence helpful to patients suffering from chronic illness. CBD disposables make you feel less anxious and stressed when you vape an optimal number of puffs. Cannabidiol interacts with CB1 receptors in the brain to induce brain glands to release the hormone serotonin, which plays a significant role in combating negative emotions.

CAN CBD DISPOSABLES MAKE YOU FEEL HIGH?

Cannabidiol is a mood-altering cannabinoid that offers significant health benefits like reducing body inflammation and treating mental disorders. Although the cannabinoid and its cousin THC are derived from the same cannabis plant strain, only THC has intoxicating effects by changing your perceptions of time and space with a high feeling. According to Arkell et al. (2019), vaping CBD disposables has no mind-altering effects making it best suited for treating chronic infections. However, even if CBD Oil has no psychoactive effects, people still report cases of feeling high when vaping. It is simply because the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has not placed any regulations to control the manufacturing and selling of CBD products; hence, some manufacturers may produce CBD disposables contaminated with THC psycho-chemical above the recommended mark (less than 0.3%). Also, companies use different extraction methods to derive CBD, resulting in three types of CBD disposables. The types have different compositions than other plant cannabinoids, as explained below;

CBD FULL-SPECTRUM DISPOSABLE VAPE

The full spectrum contains all cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, including traces of THC. It means that you may harness the product’s health benefits, and in the long run, you get high. Fortunately, most of these products contain THC of less than 0.3% but not all. When you vape CBD e-liquid extracted from the marijuana plant, the THC level is most likely above 3% of the total mass. Always purchase  CBD disposables extracted from the hemp plant.

BROAD–SPECTRUM CBD E-LIQUID

It mainly contains CBD compounds and little traces of other cannabinoids but no THC molecules during extraction. Companies use steam distillation, lipid, or solvent extraction to eliminate THC at the end CBD product. It is the best type to harness the benefits of other cannabinoids like terpenes and CBG without the risk of getting high.

DISPOSABLE CBD ISOLATE

A crystalline powder comprising 99% CBD compounds is diluted with organic carrier oils to create a pure e-liquid. Companies use all available extraction techniques to remove all plant chemicals, isolating CBD compounds.

CAN OVERDOSING OON CBD DISPOSABLES GET YOU HIGH?

You will never get high from overdosing on CBD disposables. However, the fact that you are overwhelming body antigens, you may feel the following ways;

DIZZINESS

Dizziness is a sense of instability and affects your balance making you prone to the risk of falling. It is the expected side effect when you overwhelm your body with prescribed or supplemented medication. Freeman et al. (2019) suggested that CBD disposables make a person dizzy for the first time. This is because the body system adjusts to interacting with the cannabinoid with body receptors.

DROWSINESS

Drowsiness is an unpleasant feeling of fatigue and sleepiness during the day. Vaping CBD more frequently is prohibited by physicians since it may cause you to feel tired and down to earth. You will feel muscle fatigue when vaping while under alcohol, thus impaired driving. It is because CBD compounds are chemically active; they react with alcohol molecules in the body, suppressing the body’s energy levels.s

CONCLUSION

CBD disposables have found their way into people’s lifestyles as they are convenient and easy to carry around. You can relieve headaches or social anxiety in public without anyone noticing. Fortunately, even if how much you vape them, you will never feel high unless the CBD e-liquid contains traces of THC above the recommended percentage; less than 0.3%. Therefore, checking the ingredients in the CBD disposable vape is essential before purchasing it. Pure disposables may not have psychoactive effects, but overdosing on the supplement can cause you to feel dizzy, tired, tensed, and exhausted. Always consult your doctor for clarification regarding CBD dosage and your health history.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
