Cracking Knuckles Leads to Arthritis
Contrary to what most myths say, knuckle cracking cannot trigger arthritis. In fact, the worse detrimental effects one can get from cracking knuckles is temporary weakness on your hands or swelling. There is no arthritis threat from knuckle-cracking.
Starve a Fever, Feed a Cold
This myth means that people should eat more calories when with a cold and fewer calories when with a fever. I agree on the cold part, as the body needs more calories when suffering from a cold to increase metabolism and energy for heat purposes. However, starving when with fever is completely wrong. The body demands calories to combat illnesses; hence, you need to drink more fluids and calories to cope with the increased metabolism from your fever symptoms.
Cold, Wet Weather Can Cause a Cold/going out with wet hair is bad for you
Going outdoors when wet cannot cause a cold directly but increases your infection risks as the virus tend to spread faster and easier in low temperatures. Exposure to cold, dry air weakens the immune leaving you at greater risk of contracting a cold.
You Should Remove Sugar Entirely From Your Diet
That’s a big lie; though the body does not require added sugar, there is room for moderate intake of sugar amounts in your diet.
Gluten is Bad
There are no health benefits associated with taking gluten-free foods. Gluten is not bad for your health unless you have celiac disease. Gluten-free food is less nutritious than those with gluten compounds.
