KNOW THE BENEFITS OF USING HIGH POTENCY CBD

///

High potency CBD allows an individual to take a higher CBD dosage in a relatively shorter time. This type of CBD usage consists of full-spectrum products, which many may not be well-suited for. However, it is highly preferable to those who use CBD products.

So, what is high potency CBD?

High potency CBD, also CBD concentrate, is a product containing comparatively higher contents of CBD than those found in typical cannabis products.

In recent years, the heightened interest in CBD has driven research on the cannabis plant higher, leading to the derivation of new breeds of the plant with scaled-up amounts of CBD. These strains of cannabis, such as hemp, have proven to contain increased CBD levels compared to the typical varieties of cannabis sativa plants.

CBD and THC are both components of cannabis. Whilst THC causes the ‘high’ feeling in the users, CBD is nonintoxicating. This, therefore, implies that, however much you consume CBD products, it is highly unlikely that you experience intoxication associated with marijuana.

High-potency CBD usage, just like consuming the product in lower amounts, has been proven to have effects on a wide scale, including helping in treating anxiety, stress, arthritis, loss of appetite, and many more.

Since CBD products are not yet regulated or approved by the FDA because of insufficient research and data on the benefits or effects of the substance, it is advisable that you consume in low quantities first. Using CBD products sparingly helps you to discover the best range to specialize from.

Firstly, let’s look at the types of high potency CBD you can use:

Types of high potency CBD

Types of CBD concentrate essentially depend on the method of extraction. Therefore, the form in which the end-product takes will depend on these methods of extraction.

Some manufacturers use chemicals to extract this component. Ethanol and butane are commonly used in this process. Afterward, they are separated from the content. Since the removal of these solvents may not be 100%, some companies don’t use this method, fearing that the result may have a different taste, lower quality, and be unnatural.

Other processes may make use of supercritical CO2. The extraction of CBD in this process is not toxic. Other by-products are also removed to enhance its purity and quality; they include waxes and fats. The final compound, CBD, may come out along with other elements such as terpenes.

CBD products are differentiated at the last flush process. Sometimes, this also affects the level of concentration of the potency CBD. These are the types of CBD concentrate.

  • Wax. It is a slightly darker oily substance used mostly for vaping or dabs.
  • Crystal or powder. CBD isolate – the purest CBD type contains nothing but crystalline CBD, which comes in a powdery form.
  • Budder. Almost similar to the waxy concentrate except for its fluffy texture, which is added by flushing wax at high temperature and pressure.
  • Crumble. Again, almost similar to wax, crumble contains some moisture which gives it a crumble and less sticky texture.
  • Shatter. It comes with a thick texture, and it melts when heated.
  • Live resin. This is what makes the more expensive CBD products you find in the stores. This type occurs from extraction, where huge amounts of terpenes and cannabinoids are allowed in the final compound. This version of high potency CBD contains full-spectrum CBD.

Benefits of using high potency CBD

Relieve chronic pains

Although not sufficient, studies have indicated that CBD concentrate was ideal for relieving chronic pain concerns in humans. Researchers have further linked pain-relieving exploits of cannabis to cannabinoids. However, an independent study on CBD to confirm its effects on pain revealed that it has moderate results.

When compared to placebo groups, CBD was found to have more adverse side effects than placebo. This implies that using a full-spectrum CBD is more beneficial to treating chronic pain than CBD.

Mitigate cases of anxiety

Results on the use of CBD to treat anxiety disorder in human beings are quite inconsistent. Some people have reported its benefits and even stated that the only reason they use the substance is to relieve anxiety.

On the flip side, a substantial number of those who have used the product before agreeing to experiencing anxiety and panic attacks as side effects.

A study conducted on people with social anxiety disorder revealed that those who used 600 mg CBD before public speaking reported less anxiety than those who were on placebo.

The results in this study were promising. However, more research needs to be carried out with more people on different variables to document coherent and sustained feedback on the benefits of high potency CBD in managing anxiety.

Reduce some forms of seizures and epilepsy

Available information on CBD concentrate and seizures is not sufficient to fully back the assertion that it is used in the treatment of seizures and epilepsy. Nonetheless, the FDA back in 2018 approv3d the first pharmaceutical-grade drug made from CBD for the treatment of rare forms of seizures.

Lennox-Gastaut and Dravet syndrome patients found more relief from taking Epidiolex – an FDA-approved CBD medication for seizures.

More on this field needs to be carried out to make a universal seizure drug.

Easing side effects of chemotherapy

Nausea and vomiting are the prime side effects resulting from cancer treatments. Antiemetic has been widely used to treat chemotherapy-induced nausea and vomiting for years. A study to ascertain the efficacy of a CBD-reinforced antiemetic drug on CINV reported positive results when CBD was used together with THC.

An article in Future Oncology in 2019 seemed to encourage more studies to beef up the current knowledge on the use of CBD products in the treatment of chemotherapy-induced side effects.

The bottom line

High potency CBD has many benefits – at least according to the few findings. In addition to those mentioned above, CBD is said to be helpful in reducing substance abuse dependency, depression, PTSD, and many others.

My verdict more research needs to be conducted to harmonize the benefits of CBD in all medical fields.
