In my opinion, people should rethink snacking at midnight if they want to increase longevity.
2) Why is eating earlier a better option for the body?
Eating earlier, especially diets loaded with carbs and snacks can enhance proper blood sugar regulation. As a result, you reduce the risk of getting diabetes and prediabetes.
3) How does eating later negatively affect the body / make people age faster?
Research shows that people, especially with melatonin gene receptor possibly alter their blood sugar levels when they eat towards bedtime. The melatonin hormone controls the sleep-wake cycle and its production increases towards night time. While the hormone is great for sleep stimulation, it can disrupt insulin release and tamper with blood glucose.

The body metabolism is generally lower at night due to limited activities. Eating late will only worsen the metabolism because of poor digestion, which can cause risks to illnesses since the body may not properly distribute nutrients as required. I always advise my clients to eat healthy, earlier, and sleep without alarms for snacking, which majorly disrupt their sleeping patterns.
