IMPACT OF COVID AND WORKING FROM HOME ON ORAL CARE

During covid 19, self-isolation and lockdown caused numerous effects on people’s behavior, which affected their health. For instance, it led to most individuals working from home, giving more time for them to engage in various activities, including food consumption. The increased anxiety and time resulted in more eating and drinking foods that possibly led to poor oral health. A study indicates that more than 30% of people ate sugary foods and snacks, whereas others had sugary beverages. Even alcohol and vape consumption was shown to have increased. It also showed that consumption of poultry meat, dairy, seafood, and vegetables had gone higher at that time. But the major problem was caused by eating highly processed foods with high sugar content that is detrimental to mouth health.
