Improve Your Sex Life by Decorating your Bedroom

Now don’t laugh because a recent study by Dulux and the MindLab International Laboratory at Sussex University has found that woman find a newly decorated boudoir as spine-tinglingly pleasurable as a bit of between the sheets action!

The scientists conducting the study measured the emotive responses of the research subjects towards mood enhancing experiences such as being behind the wheel of a sports car, kissing and making love you their partner. The results of the study on 19 adults (12 of which were female) were rather surprising as they women registered the same response towards making love as towards viewing a newly decorated bedroom! The response to activities such as laughing with friends, shopping, riding a rollercoaster and eating chocolate did not reach the levels of physiological arousal that were measured when the women looked at a beautifully decorated boudoir.

I guess we shouldn’t be too surprised about these results as everyone knows that our environment has a huge part to play in our mood. Think about how you feel when you come home to a warm and comfortable house after a long hard day at work, or how a sunny afternoon in the garden gives you a whole new perspective on life. It makes sense that being in a lavishly decorated bedroom will put you in my mood for a passionate encounter with your lover.

So in order to take full advantage of this study make sure that your bedroom is clean, tidy and decorated with sumptuous fabrics and accessories. Keeping the lighting low, the heating up and avoiding harsh colours will increase the levels of relaxation; so pale pastel sheets and candles will work wonders here! Four posters are the ultimate when it comes to romance so if you can afford to splash out on a new bed then go for it. If your budget is a little more modest you can still create a sensual atmosphere with satin sheets and plenty of throw cushions.
