Les Actives Paris – the French sportswear brand designed for ALL women

Founded in 2019 by Flore and Shanti Delaporte, two cousins who love sportswear but struggled to find timeless and elegant pieces that combined all the elements they were looking for in the perfect sportswear outfit : notably comfort, technicity, aesthetics and had a sustainable component to it.

So they decided to go for it, and start their own feminine athleisure brand !

Both athletic and passionate about sports, they decided to create feminine, elegant, comfortable and timeless sportswear pieces. Today, the brand offers various products, such as leggings, sports bras, rompers, matching loungewear sets, tennis skirts, leotards, tank tops, tee-shirts and other products.

The goal is to offer their clients pieces of an irreproachable quality. All fabrics are Made in France, and the pieces are then assembled in Portugal ; which allows the brand to ensure that production remains in close-circuit.

Some products, such as the tank top and the leotard are made of tencel, a material that is made from wood pulp, which is as soft as cotton, but requires less water in the production.

Some products, such as the tee-shirt, the romper or the tennis skirt, are also Made 100% in France : from fabric to assembly, they are created locally in our French ateliers, and are of the best possible quality on the premium athleisure wear market.

The brand also decided to create different cuts catered to specific needs and different sport practices. For instance, the “Essential” legging has a medium to high waist, has a 7/8th length, and is perfectly designed for low-impact practices, such as yoga, dance, Pilates, or walking. The “Sculptural” legging, with its lateral pockets, its high and form-fitting waist, is the model designed for more high-intensity workouts such as running, HIIT or fitness. The idea is that every model is designed to best suit the wearer regardless of her morphology. The aim is for every woman to feel confident and empowered in her sportswear set, regardless of her age, shape or the type of exercise she practices. The brand wants all women to feel completely empowered in their clothes, and to feel extremely good in them. It’s the main goal.

Today, the brand is selling their pieces on their website : www.lesactives-paris.com but also on various platforms such as Decathlon, Place des Tendances ; and marketplaces online, in many studios throughout Europe and the US, and in some department stores such as Le Printemps.

As for Les Actives Paris’s ambitions ?

We wish to develop fully internationally. Whilst we have several selling points in the US, Belgium, Switzerland, the UK, Portugal, and Luxembourg, we wish to be even more present on the international scene as we develop.

The main challenge ahead for the brand remains the fact that the sportswear market is already overly-saturated, at least on the international scene. Many brands realized this early on, and launched products on a larger scale. However, with its European production and extreme quality and comfort, the brand differentiates itself by its unique products of the uppermost quality.

Furthermore, whilst athleisure clothes and athleisure wear is already very much developed and integrated in American culture, it remains something that has yet to become more integrated in French culture. This is where the brand realizes it has potential to develop something that is yet a bit shy of being completely integrated in France.

The advice co-founders Flore and Shanti would give others about business is to have a clear idea in mind of what it is they want to create.

It is not easy to start from the ground-up and create something from scratch. Though very exciting and stimulating, there are many obstacles an entrepreneur encounters on the path to developing a brand. This is why it is absolutely crucial to have a clear idea of what it is they wish to create, in order to work towards achieving that goal, and the next one.
