Long Covid and Sex-min

Long Covid and Sex

Generally speaking, long covid is unfriendly to our sex lives. A quick refresher? Long covid are symptoms that remain part of us after recovering from Covid-19. These symptoms include extreme stress and anxiety. In my medical experience, people who experience high stress and anxiety are more likely to experience hair loss, resulting in low self-esteem and body confidence. The two are linked to reduced sexual desire, negatively affecting sexual life.

Loss of body confidence causes an imbalance in your hunger hormones (leptin and ghrelin), spiking your appetite. Eating more than your usual amount is more likely to kill your sex drive. Although the symptoms of long covid are unfriendly to our mental and physical well-being, the good news is you can overcome them and feel sexual again. Practice self-compassion, taking time to honor your body’s needs.

LC AND SEX

COVID-19 might have been with us for a few years now, but its effects are still under analysis. The virus has several impacts on people’s lives, whether you contracted it or not. Let us look at the way it affected people’s sex lives.

LC effects on people’s sexual lives

Erectile issues

Male victims suffered more than exhaustion. Most of them likely had underlying health problems, including higher BMI and diabetes- conditions coinciding with erection problems.

Low libido

Commonly, COVID-19 was accompanied by exhaustion, tiredness, and weakness. These aspects are associated with a lack of urge for sex. Being a respiratory disease, COVID-19 alters your breathing and stamina, making penetrative sex almost impossible or difficult.
