LoriGeurin.com | Wellness for Life Helping People Live Healthier Lives

LoriGeurin.com Wellness for Life is the name of the wellness blog I started a few years ago while battling a debilitating chronic illness. The blog was originally a way to share what I was learning about health and wellness as I desperately searched for answers to help me regain my health. I had to leave my teaching job because I was too weak to do anything else but lie in bed in constant pain, research health, and pray that I would get better so I could be the wife and mom that I wanted to be.

I knew there had to be a better way to live than the way I was living. At my darkest moments, I thought about giving up and giving in, but something inside me said no. That little voice urged me to keep going and never give up on myself.

Today I am living proof that it is possible to reverse the effects of chronic disease and enjoy a healthy life. Although I’m still not 100%, I’m grateful every day I wake up feeling strong, and for the progress I’ve made so far.

After seeing many specialists, trying every treatment available, and finally finding an integrative doctor who helped me get my life back, I gradually began to feel better. After years of learning all I could, I realized that my story could help others who were also struggling with their health and looking for answers. I hope that by sharing what I’ve learned, I can help others feel better and live their best lives too.

I decided to become a certified holistic wellness coach and a certified life coach so I could help people who were struggling the way I was. I eventually turned my blog into a business with the mission of helping people live healthier lives.

As the blog grows, I’ve opened two shops. Our Amazon shop includes health and wellness journals. Our Thrive Berry Etsy shop is where we sell wellness-inspired products to help people get healthy, organized, and meet their goals with inspirational t-shirts, printable wellness planners, and health trackers.

I recently created a new blog, KindergartenPrep.org, out of my passion for helping other moms through the challenges of motherhood. As a mom of four and a former teacher, I understand how difficult and overwhelming it can be. I hope to provide helpful tips, resources, printables, and encouragement to other moms as they navigate this beautiful but challenging journey we call motherhood.

I’m working on creating an intermittent fasting 30-day challenge that I plan to launch in the next few months. And last year, I started a freelance writing business on Fiverr, where I help clients with article writing, editing, proofreading, and brand development. I’m encouraged and grateful that my businesses are growing and positively impacting people’s lives. It’s a lot of work but so worth it!

Current Business Challenges

The most challenging issue I’m facing is that there aren’t enough hours in the day to accomplish everything I want to do. I’m a one-woman show, and although I have incredible support from my husband and kids, there’s only so much I can do. I’m working on systems to help me be more efficient and scale the business.

Then there’s the challenge of freelance working from home. It can be tough to stay focused and get work done when there are so many distractions. I’ve had to learn to create a daily schedule and stick to it to help me be productive and get things done.

Working from home has its advantages but also comes with some challenges. I tend to push myself too hard and try to do too much. In many ways, I feel like I’m making up for lost time for all the years I wasn’t physically able to work because I was so sick.

I have to remind myself that it’s okay to take a break and that I’m not superhuman.

Fortunately, I’ve gotten better at saying no and setting healthy boundaries. I’m also learning to simplify and focus on what’s most important to me and my business.

I believe that everything happens for a reason and that our challenges are here to teach us and help us grow. I’m grateful for the challenges I’ve faced in business because they’ve made me stronger, more resilient, and more determined to succeed.

If you’re facing challenges in your business, know that you’re not alone. We all face challenges and failure, but it’s how we deal with the trials that determines our success. Don’t give up on yourself or your business. Lean into your challenges and let them make you stronger. You got this!

It’s been a learning process, but I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made so far. I’m working on learning to take breaks, relax, and enjoy life a bit more. I want to be able to look back on my life and say that I not only worked hard but that I also played hard, loved my family well, and enjoyed the journey.

There’s a lot of misinformation about health and wellness, and it can be hard to wade through all of it to find the truth. Fore this reason, I research everything I write about and share on the blog and on social media. I want my readers to know that they can trust me and that I only share information that I believe to be true and helpful.

I’m constantly learning new things as I continue my journey to wellness. It can be challenging to keep up with all the latest research and information, but I feel it’s crucial to do so to be able to provide the best possible information to my readers.

Starting your own business on a budget can be challenging, but it’s not impossible. If you’re willing to do the work and learn many new skills, it can be a great way to provide for your family, work from home, and have more control over your time.

I love to learn new things and am constantly reading, researching, and expanding my knowledge so I can provide the best possible information to my readers. That said, there have been many challenges along the way. Some of the skills I’ve had to learn include

  • Designing and building a website on my own from scratch
  • Learning about SEO and how to rank your articles on Google
  • Writing engaging articles about topics that people are interested in
  • Taking and editing photos for the blog and social media posts
  • Building a social media following from scratch
  • Learning about email marketing and how to grow an email list
  • Designing and creating products that people will want to buy
  • Starting a YouTube channel and creating videos

These are just a few of the skills I’ve had to learn (and continue to learn about) to be successful with my business. It’s been a lot of work, but I love it and wouldn’t trade it for anything. There’s a lot to learn when you start a business, but it’s also a lot of fun!

I’m looking forward to seeing how the company evolves and the impact it will have on people’s lives. I’m grateful for the opportunity to do what I love and help others along the way. I’m always thinking of new ways to help more people in more ways. It’s important to see things from your customer’s perspectives and put yourself in their shoes. Only then can you really comprehend what they need and how you may help them.

Current Business Opportunities

There are endless opportunities when it comes to helping people live healthier lives. There are always new products, novel research, and new information to share. Right now, I’m working on a 30-day intermittent fasting challenge to help people who want to start a fasting practice and improve their health and life. I’m always thinking of new products to create and add to our Amazon and Thrive Berry Etsy shops.

In the future, I hope to expand the business by adding more products and services to help people live healthier lives. I’m also hoping to add an online course and books to help people who want to dive deeper into specific wellness topics.

I’m continuing to build my Fiverr freelance writing business and honing my business skills by working with fascinating clients through the Fiverr platform. I started offering my freelance writing services on Fiverr one year ago, in August 2021. I was getting new customers quickly, and I had to raise my fees to keep up with the demand. I heard about Fiverr Pro after a few months and decided to apply.

Fiverr Pro is a premium marketplace that connects some of the world’s most well-known and reputable companies with top freelancers. The freelancers on Fiverr Pro are vetted to ensure they are high-quality and meet rigorous standards. Fiverr claims that only 1% of the freelancers who apply for Pro status are accepted.

After submitting my application to become a Fiverr Pro, I waited expectantly, hoping that I would be accepted. I was thrilled when I got the email saying I was selected to join the Fiverr Pro community.

I’m honored to be a part of this exclusive group of freelancers and excited about the opportunities it will bring. As a Fiverr Pro seller, my services get promoted to companies looking for top-notch quality. Fiverr Pro allows me to get my name and brand in front of a whole new audience and reach people I wouldn’t have had access to before. You can find me on Fiverr at Fiverr.com/LoriGeurin.

I’m grateful for the progress I’ve made with the business this far and all the incredible people I’ve met along the way, and I’m excited to see what the future holds.

Advice To Others About Starting a Business

There are a lot of things that I have learned over the years as I have expanded my business. I am still learning new things every day. If I could advise someone just starting, it would be to do your research, just go for it, and never give up.

Just Start

I’m a big believer in the mindset that you can do anything you set your mind to accomplish. If you have an idea for a business, just go for it! Don’t overthink it. You don’t need to have everything figured out before you start. Just take it one step at a time, and things will fall into place. If you keep waiting for the perfect time, you’ll never start.

Never Stop Learning

When I started my business, I had no idea what I was doing, but I knew I wanted to help people. I read tons of books and articles, watched countless YouTube videos, took online courses, and followed other entrepreneurs online to learn as much as I could about designing a website, growing an email list, writing a blog post, creating products, making videos, and learning social media. I’m still learning and won’t ever stop. Business is continually changing, and there’s always something new to learn.

Be Willing To Put in the Work

Starting and growing a business takes a lot of work. Expect to spend long days and late nights growing your business. You’ll have to sacrifice your time, energy, and (sometimes) money. But, it’s so worth it if you’re passionate about what you’re doing.

Practice Positive Self-Talk

One of the most important things I’ve learned is the power of positive self-talk. We are our own biggest cheerleaders and critics. What we tell ourselves matters. So, if you want to grow a successful business, you must believe you can do it.

Surround Yourself With Like-Minded People

You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with. So, if you want to be successful in business, it’s essential to surround yourself with other like-minded people. Find a mentor, join an entrepreneur group or online community, follow inspiring people on social media, and attend events and conferences.

Find Your Why

Discovering your “why” will keep you going when the going gets tough. When you have a strong vision of your life’s purpose nothing can stop you. Take some time to explore what is motivating you. Do you want to help people solve a specific problem? Are you looking to scale your income and provide for your family? Are you passionate about making a difference in the world? Figure out what gets you excited about your business, and let that be your driving force.

Take a Break

Taking time off can be a challenge for some of us (myself included), but you need to take breaks when you’re running your own business. It can be easy to get caught up in work and forget to take care of yourself. Make time to exercise, eat healthily, and get outside to enjoy the fresh air! Also, don’t forget to take some time for yourself to relax and rejuvenate. Taking frequent breaks will help you stay creative, productive, and motivated.

Never Give Up

I cannot stress this enough. When you feel like giving up on your business, remember why you started in the first place and keep going. You will face challenges and roadblocks but don’t let them stop you. Every journey has its ups and downs, but if you stay focused on your goals and never give up, you will do great things!
