Maintaining a self of self in a relationship is incredibly important. It can be easy to loose yourself in a relationship, especially in a long term one. As you spend more and more time with your partner you start to absorb their energy and habits. Spending time apart helps you to remember who you are. Schedule time apart to do things you love doing. If you don’t know what you love doing try new things until you find something you do love doing. Try to create friendship groups that don’t involve your partner as well as friendship groups that do. That way you can enjoy spending time together and time apart.
