Welcome to StarLight Breeze meditations … I invite you to find your place of comfort for today’s practice … Making gentle movements to settle yourself into an upright, seated posture … Keeping your spine, all nice and proud … Tucking the chin just a little … And close your eyes … Make any last adjustments here … Lessening the movement of the body … Finding stillness and peace …

And now, shifting your attention on the breath … Noticing the sensations of the breath … The way the air flows in through the nose … Expanding the belly and chest … And releasing the air through the mouth … Feeling the belly contract, becoming smaller … Breathing in … And breathing out … Breathing in … And breathing out … The breath becoming more smooth … Tranquil … Finding alignment and harmony within yourself … In your well deserved time of relaxation …

Begin to shift your attention to the body now … Notice if there are any tightness or tension weighing you down … Breathe into these areas … Giving yourself the permission to be at ease … Feeling a sense of renewal filling your being now … Fully supported by the surface you are seated upon … Feeling centred and grounded … Your bones becoming more heavy as you fall deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation … Fully present in this mindful moment …

Our daily lives can often become so busy … Filled with to do lists … Overwhelming schedules … Places to go, and places to be … Our minds can become congested and blocked … Thoughts always running rampant … It is easy to get lost in a constant state of thinking …

And sometimes all may help is to simply clear your mind … Allowing you think and act with purpose … To refresh your perspectives … To recharge and rejuvenate … And now … I want you to visualise being in a quiet retreat … You are in a cozy cabin on a mountainside, surrounded by trees and rocks … Outside the windows, you can see snow falling softly from the sky …

You know there are hot springs nearby the cabin, and you decide to take trip there … You step out into the snow wearing sandals and a bathrobe … Walking briskly along the path … The snow is falling upon your skin … It is so cold … It feels tingly but soothing … You feel so excited to be visiting the natural pool … You hear the water stream, and finally arrive at the exposed water, surrounded by rocks … The air around you is foggy … The springs are perfectly clear, and the snow has melted all around it … You step out of your sandals and your bathrobe, leaving it at the side … Right into the steaming, hot water …

There is such distinct difference between the temperature of the water enveloping you, and the cool air above you, as the snowflakes continue to fall ever so gracefully … You begin to step further into the hot springs, until you find a perfect spot to sit down … The water comes up to just below your chin … Enveloping your entire being with warmth and comfort … You begin to feel so relaxed … So at peace … The water is just the right temperature … You feel your feet rest on the smooth rock bottom of the hot springs, as you gently lean back against the sloped stone sides of the pool …

You close your eyes and release a sigh … Allowing your entire body to relax now … The water surrounding you … Soothing you … This is just what you needed … To clear your mind … To renew … Allow your arms to float gently upon the water … Lowering your shoulders even deeper, easing all the tension away … Allowing stress to dissolve completely … And now … Beginning to relax our bodies … Allow a feeling of relaxation to wash over your feet … Feeling very heavy, loose, and relaxed …

Relaxing your ankles … Your lower legs … And the knees … Allowing the relaxation to travel up to your upper legs and your thighs … Allowing the muscles here to let go completely … Feeling very heavy and relaxed … Breathing gently … And now, relaxation travelling up to your hips and pelvis, and all the surrounding muscles … Feeling your stomach and lower back completely relaxing … The muscles letting go of all hold and tension … Feeling the relaxation moving up to your chest, back, and shoulders … Feeling very calm … At peace … Allowing your hands to relax … All your fingertips … Your wrists … Letting go … Allow the muscles in your neck to relax … Relax your entire face and head …

Feel your entire body breathing … Becoming at peace … Heavy … Comfortable … Feeling the coolness of the snow flakes upon your forehead … Tingling … It feels so pleasant … Such a wonderful contrast with the hot temperature of the water … Allow all your stresses to escape … To drift away, just like the rising steam … Allow it to drift away into the beautiful atmosphere surrounding you … The snow … Trees … And rocks, peering through the fog … There is such serenity in this place … There’s nothing like it … So silent … The only sound is the water trickling from the crack in the rocks … It flows into the pool … And now, spend a few more moments enjoying this relaxation in the hot springs … Enjoying this beautiful and serene peace …

And when you are ready to leave the hot springs, step out of the water, onto the warm, dry rocks … Come back to your sandals and your bathrobe … Walking back to the cabin … Thanking the hot springs for allowing you to clear your mind today … Feeling the snow upon your skin, helping you to begin slowly waking up …
