Exploring even deeper, you will be encouraged to visualise your stress melting alongside the candle wax. You will achieve a sense of relief and rejuvenation, as you will mentally watch your worries and fears dissipate completely. Welcome to StarLight Breeze meditations … May you find a comfortable position … In which you are seated upright, but not too tight … Maintaining your back, neck, and head straight … Keeping your chin in a neutral position … Slowly roll your shoulders back and open up your chest … Gently place your palms in your lap … And when you are ready, close your eyes … Begin to focus your awareness on the breath … Focus on the air coming in through the nose, and leaving out through the mouth … And as you begin to grow this gentle awareness on the present moment, direct your attention to the experience of breathing … The sensations of an inhale, and the sensations of an exhale … Noticing the air coming in and out of your body …

Firmly but gently, direct your undivided attention to the experience of the breath … Invite mindfulness to each inhale and exhale … You are consciously aware of taking a long breathe in … And you are consciously aware of taking a long breath out … Totally present in this moment … Feeling the breath in the body … Embrace the breath with every part of you … Feel the physical sensations that come along with each inhale and exhale … The way you chest and belly rises … Relaxing you deeper … Breathing in … You are soothing the mind, body, and spirit … Breathing out … You are releasing stress and tension … Becoming more at peace and in tune with yourself … Finding calmness … Letting go of all holding … Letting go of anything that may stand in the way of your overall wellbeing … Feeling your whole body relax now … Relax your shoulders … Relax your jaw … Relax the space between the eyebrows … Just follow my voice … Guiding you into a place of complete inner peace …

And now … As you fall deeper and deeper into a state of relaxation … I want you to imagine yourself in a safe, comfortable environment … The room is pleasantly dark … And now … Imagine that there is a gentle glow of a candle in front of you … Maintain your attention facing forward as you observe the soft flickers of the dancing flame … It is very relaxing watching this candle move in every direction, as it pleases …

Notice every detail about the candle — what does it look like? … What shape is it? … What colour? … What size? … Create a picture of the candle in your mind in as much detail as you can … The candlelight is of a beautiful gold hue in the darkness … Soothing you … Relaxing you …

And now … Imagine that the candle is beginning to melt away the stress and tension you may have been carrying … As the candle continues to burn, feel the stress being released … Tension easing … Relaxation flowing through your entire body … Observe how the wax of the candle is becoming softer, just like your body … Notice the way the flame responds to the breath … When you inhale … And when you exhale … The way it changes its pattern … Gentle movement … And as you maintain your focus on the wax of the candle, see the way it continues to melt … Slowly turning to liquid … Warm and flowing … Free from any stress or tension … The wax is melting away all of your anxieties … Worries … And doubts …

As the melted wax begins to build, see it slowly overflow … Pouring down the sides of the candle … Drop by drop … Just like all your stresses you were carrying are dripping away … The soft flame is relaxing you … You feel at peace in this space … Feeling the stress melt away … Continue to observe the candle … Enjoying this relaxation … Feeling at total peace … In this moment of stillness … Breathing deeply here …
