The New York Cheesecake dates back to the 5th century BC when the ancient Greeks used to enjoy it as a treat. It is also believed by Historians that athletes consumed it as a dessert at the first Olympic games in 776 BC. The modern version of the cheesecake goes back to the 1700s with the American version taking hold after 1872. It happened accidentally when William Laurence invented a creamy and dense cream when he was trying to regenerate a French cheese known as Neufchatel. German-born Arnold is famous for developing the legendary New York Cheesecake. He attended a party and was given a cheese pie, he tried something new with the dish and developed the New York Cheesecake. The cheesecake is rich in dense, smooth, and creamy consistency. The heavy cream ensures that the cheesecake does not freeze. Many recipes are being tried out on the New York Cheesecake. Today, cannabutter is also being incorporated into the New York Cheesecake. A good example is the 420 New York Cheesecake.

Making Canna Butter

Banti (2020) explained that the first step involved in making the cannabutter Oil as it is the primary ingredient and it simply involves mixing cannabis with butter. Knezevic et al. (2021) explained that, for effective results, you will need to activate the CBD and THC by decarboxylating the herb.

Step-to-step Creation of Cannabutter

The first step is to spread the nuggets on a tray with baking paper. Set your oven at 240 degrees and bake for 40-50 minutes.

Heat about 1-2 quarts of water in a medium cooking pan and let it get hot. When ready, throw in your sticks of butter (2 sticks per half an ounce of cannabis). Melt the butter slowly on medium-low heat.

Add the dunk buds that you decarded in the oven after the butter is melted, stirring the mixture from time to time. Allow it to cook on low heat for about 2 ½ and 3 ½ hours.

While cooking the mixture slowly, place a cheesecloth over the bowl, that is big enough to hold the batch of butter. Pour the mixture carefully over the cheesecloth and transfer it into another bowl. Squeeze any remaining oil from the cheesecloth.

Leave the mixture for 45 minutes to cool then put it in the refrigerator to further cool. Pilehvar et al. (2020) explained that, when you place the mixture into the fridge, the top layer will rise from the water after some time. Peel off the risen part after it is completely separated. Make sure all the extra water is scraped off and store the fresh reefer extract in a jar.
