RELATIONSHIP EXPERT TO DISCUSS IMPORTANCE OF INDEPENDENCE IN PARTNERS

When we’re in a relationship it can be easy to become all absorbed with it and loose ourselves. It’s important to not let that happen and maintain some sense of self. Relationships with two independent people often last much longer than codependent relationships as the couple involved don’t put too much pressure on each other.

People that are too dependant never feel fully satisfied in a relationship as they’re constantly disappointed that their partner is giving them everything they need. The truth is that no one can give you what you need other than yourself. If you’re not happy within yourself then a partner will not be able to change that.

Independent couples help each other grow as they know their own minds and can support each other with their individual growth. If you find yourselves becoming too dependant in your relationship then make sure you spend time apart. Do things you love doing either on your own or with other friends. Remember to enjoy the things that you used to love before you became a couple. Just because your together now doesn’t mean you can’t still do those things.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
