We are a Panamanian dermatological skincare brand manufactured in the United States by a multi-award-winning board of FDA-authorized dermatologists.
How the Business was Founded?
Jorge (my husband) and I (Paola) wanted to bring Dermoeffects to life because on our honeymoon, I had a big acne breakout on my face. Can you imagine acne in one of the most important moments of your life? It happened to me, and honestly, I was quite frustrated.
My husband, noticing all that mixed feelings, told me, “Let’s find a solution.” Thus, it was then that we decided to create a brand that would provide a solution to every skin problem. We worked hard on it for more than ONE YEAR until FINALLY; today, we are here with you.
Each of our products is created with the highest standards to meet your needs because we know how good it feels to see positive results.
We are socially responsible; part of our profits will help girls at risk of socioeconomic challenges.
In addition, our products are paraben-free, fragrance-free, drying alcohol-free, gluten-free, animal cruelty-free, dermatological formulated, clinically tested, and medical grade products.
What Motivated Us to Start This Business?
I had been suffering from severe acne for years and had used countless d products that promised to solve my acne. However, all the products only turned out to be half of the solution; the products improved my acne but did not eliminate it, and the strongest products irritated and scaled my skin for weeks. Later, I once again had acne all over my face.
My husband did not want to see me feeling bad every time I had a bad acne breakout, and he did not want to go out or be seen with skin full of acne. I got immersed in routines that did not give me a solution; my husband wanted to see me with free skin and, above all, to see me happy. So we began the tireless search for a solution for my acne.
There is no better motivation than seeing a smile on a loved one’s face! After trying our first formula to solve my acne in just 2 months, I already had a completely improved face; I had stopped suffering from acne outbreaks! Seeing these results, we got motivated to create a line of skincare products. Today we have anti-aging, anti-acne, and hyper-pigmentation solutions.
We are a young married couple. I (Paola) was dedicated to fashion design and image consulting, and my husband (Jorge) has many years of experience in the commercial sector and has dedicated his life to sales. He acquired the principle idea that everything he develops has to be exceptional. Together we decided to create a company that helps people with skin problems.
Our Experiences So Far
Before creating Dermoeffects, it was common for my bathroom to be full of skincare products, which did not provide a meaningful solution. Along our way, we learned that a formulation with the correct ingredients could completely change the situations you experience day after day on your skin. We started with the motivation to solve my condition with aggressive acne, and today we are motivated by being able to help thousands who suffer from similar experiences to mine. The experience of seeing yourself in the mirror with radiant skin that generates the confidence to go out for daily duties is quite satisfying; we tend to give our customers this experience.
What Challenges Have We Faced?
We have faced several challenges in this competitive market. Large global companies with a wide range of skincare products dominate the market. We have learned that everything is possible with patience, dedication, and perseverance.
Creating a new brand invites overcoming many challenges one step at a time. Thanks to our clients who have become part of our family, we have had the joy of having their testimonials; they share our experiences with their loved ones and refer many clients to Dermoeffects to get the solution they found with our facial care products.
It is a vibrant market that is constantly growing. Our short-term plans are to reach the European, Asian, and North American markets. Currently, we are discussing with investors interested in our venture.

Although the COVID-19 pandemic was a complicated period for many people, it helped certain habits to grow among consumers; these include, but are not limited to, the desire to look more beautiful naturally due to the time we spend in our homes and increased consumption through e-commerce has helped us to reach more people.
In the medium term, we hope to register our presence in millions of homes globally. We wish to release brands that enable our clients to achieve a beautiful and renewed complexion and become the brand of reference globally.
Today we live in a world with much greater connectivity which offers many opportunities to grow the business. Advice to Other Entrepreneurs?
My husband and I have found in our family the engine for going out every day to fight for our dreams. Dedicate as much time as you can to yourself and your future. Keep acquiring new knowledge; today, it is much easier to acquire information about beauty trends, thanks to digital technology and social media.
Optimize how you use every minute. Every detail of your company has to be planned, written, and supervised. It would help if you defined your short, medium, and long-term goals. Know very clearly who your Customer Avatar is, what it does, what they like, where, when, and how they consume before you design your strategy. Stay focused on one segment of the population; today, we must know how to communicate to the minds of our potential customers, understand what value we add to them, and know how to satisfy their needs. Therefore stay in a segment to have a lean customer base.
Undertaking a business risk takes work; you will find challenges everywhere. The most important thing is to have a clear mind that you will not give up and will overcome every challenge that comes your way. Without realizing it, you will grow stronger, more skillful, and more determined.
