SLEEPING ON A SIDE OF THE BED

SLEEPING ON A SIDE OF THE BED

According to new research, over 60 percent of adults sleep on their sides. Side sleepers have a favorite side that they tend to sleep on each day, either the right or left side. Most of my clients admitted that their sleeping positions were majorly influenced by their childhoods habits which they use till today. Even as adults, those who loved to sleep on their left or right side still favor the same position. Others indicated that their side sleeping habits were based on their health issues, age, and how their partner’s slept. Age, gender, and comfortability can also impact the side you like sleeping on. Comfort is the top reason why people pick a side when sleeping.

Choosing a sleeping side is higher in adults as you get concerned about your health conditions. Changing the side or way you sleep can negatively or positively impact your sleep quality or health. On the positive, you can change your sleeping position to benefit your wellbeing or physical health. While on the negative changing sides can trigger restlessness and uncomfortable sleep as you struggle to adjust to the new position lowering your sleep quality.
