THE CBD OIL EXPERIENCE

THE CBD OIL EXPERIENCE

CBD Oil was discovered in 1940 as one of 113 cannabinoids in the cannabis plants with THC and an account of 40% extract. It is also one of the two compounds found in the cannabis plant, alongside THC. Unlike THC which is active and has a high strengthening feeling, CBD cannot get you high.  However, an infused cannabinoid product contains THC that can get you high. According to recent market analysis, some of the CBD products could be hiding THC. Federal law restricts production of CBD-labeled products to a concentration of over 0.3% THC.  FDA has published this warning in various journals and news outlets such as Forbes. Nonetheless, JAMA shows published research indicating that several products increase the amount without showing on the label. Therefore, be keen on THC labels and avoid taking too much THC by scanning the QR codes offered.

How to Use CBD Oil

Shake the bottle before use, for consistency. Use a dropper to administer a drop or two under the tongue. Hold it under the tongue for 30 seconds and above to ensure maximum absorption. CBD oils differ with their dose, strength, price, and brand. Closely listen to manufacturer instructions before use.

Factors to Consider When Using CBD Oil

Time

People expect immediate results on taking CBD oil, which may be impossible. However, for rapid effectiveness, it is advisable to take a higher concentration. On the other hand, low doses take time to yield effectiveness. Depending on your body reaction and urgency of effectiveness, determine the appropriate dose. Consider the THC levels to avoid cases of getting high due to overdose.

Strength

CBD oil presents itself in different strengths and flavors including vanilla, natural berry, citrus, and mint. Flavors help to avoid the natural taste of the hemp plant. One can select the strength they wish depending on how effective the agent is. Body chemistry differs from person to person so seek medical advice before selecting the appropriate strength to avoid overdose side effects of CBD. Most CBD products are offered in a potency of 25-5000 mg. For a veteran, take a higher dose for rapid effectiveness since the body has adapted to marijuana. Newbies are recommended to take low doses as they assess effectiveness and body reaction.

Body Size

While people differ in body size and weight, the dosage differs too. For instance, heavyweight boxers need a higher dose of CBD of 220lb than the jockey who requires 126lb. However, a low dose for starters is highly recommended by manufacturers regardless of the body size.

The Legality of CBD Oil

The legal CBD oil consists of 0.3% of THC. In countries like the USA, CBD oil is legalized at the state level. Although most states have legalized hemp based products, they have restricted THC levels to 0.3% as stated by FDA. USA states like Idaho, South Dakota, Kansa, and Nebraska are yet to legalize hemp products. Most western countries have legalized CBD products except for countries like Iceland and Monaco. Asian countries like Cambodia and Vietnam prohibit marijuana products. In the African continent and Middle East, cannabis products have been prohibited.

How Does CBD Oil Work?

Cannabinoids in our bodies are located in the endocannabinoid system. On taking CBD oil, cannabinoids are activated to interact with different parts of the brain and body. As a result, bodily processes are optimized, triggering anti-inflammation, calming pain, and anxiety action in the mind and body.

Top 3 Types of CBD Oil

Full-spectrum

It consists of a combination of many compounds of marijuana plant extract including the cannabis plant. Its composition for the level of THC is 0.3%. It contains essential oils, terpenes, and other cannabinoids.

Broad-spectrum

Unlike full-spectrum that has no THC, broad-spectrum has some traces of THC in its products. According to experts, it’s between the full spectrum and isolates.

Isolates

It’s a pure type of CBD oil with no cannabinoids or THC. Unlike full-spectrum and broad-spectrum, isolate products have no evident effects. Its products are diluted internationally by top-selling companies. Before use, check the amount of CBD prescribed.

Ways of Extracting CBD Oil

Carbon Dioxide Extraction

Carbon dioxide is used to segregate CBD oil from the cannabis plant. It is the most advanced and known way of extracting CBD oil. According to scientists, it’s commonly used because it’s eco-friendly and minimizes risks of contaminating the product.

Steam Distillation

Works when using steam to segregate CBD oil from cannabis. Nonetheless, it’s not as effective as the carbon dioxide extraction method.

Solvent Extraction

It is not preferred on most occasions since it can leave some solvent residues in the product unlike the other extraction methods.

Conclusion

Everyone has their own experience with CBD oil. Whether to use CBD oil is a personal choice and one should be careful about the products and ingredients labeled on the CBD products. CBD oil is established by extraction of cannabidiol from cannabis and hemp plants. CBD oil varies depending on the type of plant and the extraction method. CBD takes around 4-6 hours to work and can be consumed at any time of the day. If you want it to work for insomnia, take it immediately before bed. The appropriate amount of CBD oil will vary depending on the intended use.
