WebWork is a time tracking and project management platform. It focuses on simplifying remote work management by combining all necessary tools into one. On WebWork users can track time, manage projects, chat, hold meetings, and more.
As a time tracker, WebWork provides accurate data on tracked time, app and website usage, activity level, attendance, and more. The mobile version of WebWork tracks geolocation as well, if given the necessary permissions.
As a project management tool, WebWork has a workspace where users can create tasks and projects, assign them, and track the time spent on them.
WebWork also has Team Chat and Video Calls. Users can chat, discuss work, share files and more. They can hold video conferences, discuss work through screen sharing, celebrate events if they work remotely, and more.
The Story Behind WebWork
WebWork founder Vahagn Sargsyan says the idea emerged when their team were searching and trying different tools that would help them improve time management across the team. They were trying many tools but none would satisfy their needs, unfortunately.
Or rather, fortunately, cause that’s how the idea of WebWork came to being.
Initially, WebWork’s main focus was time tracking and employee monitoring. However, over time the team decided to expand its functionalities and make it into an all-in-one tool.
First, WebWork introduced the project and task management feature, then the Team Chat, geolocation tracking, and now video calls.
Now many remote teams are already using WebWork as their primary workspace.
What Users Can Do With WebWork
Track Time
Users can track their working time in order to see how much time each task takes. While tracking time, WebWork creates detailed reports with all the tracked data. These include attendance, statistics, activity level, and more.
Track Productivity
WebWork enables users to track their productivity levels. When the tracker is on and tracking time, it is also tracking the user’s activity, such as their mouse clicks, keystrokes, and visited platforms. These are then used to generate productivity reports.
Manage Projects
On WebWork users can manage tasks and projects as well. They can assign tasks, write comments, attach files, add deadlines, and more. While working on the tasks, users can also track the time spent on them.
Communicate
In order to make collaboration easier, WebWork has communication channels. On the Team Chat users can discuss work, share files or simply chat. Moreover, they can also hold meetings and conferences through video calls.
The Challenges the Business Is Facing
High Competition
The main challenge has always been high competition. It was especially hard in the beginning when the team was small and the market already had leaders. First, it seemed impossible to compete with the leading time tracking tools. However, with hard work, perseverance, and belief WebWork gradually grew into a worthy competitor to the leading time trackers.
Now WebWork is competing with not only time trackers, but also with project management and similar tools. In fact, competition never ends. However, with the right approach WebWork keeps up with competitors and keeps growing its user base.
Resistance From Employees
Time trackers are not always welcomed by employees. The main reason is usually the wrong perception and introduction to trackers.
As time trackers track time and activity, they need access to some personal information. Sometimes when companies decide to incorporate time tracking into their workflow, they do not really consider the privacy of their employees as an issue. The reasoning behind this approach is the purpose of using trackers for work only. However, regardless of the purpose of invading privacy, it should always be discussed and agreed upon.
WebWork counters this approach by highlighting the benefits of time tracking. It does not support monitoring employees without their agreement and instead focuses on helping increase productivity and improve time management.
The Opportunities the Business/Market Is Facing
Demand
One of the biggest opportunities in the market is demand. Despite the presence of so many time trackers, there’s still a place for everyone. You just need to find and work with your audience.
Especially with the growing rise of remote work, time trackers are becoming increasingly common. In fact, WebWork and remote work are intertwined. Not only does WebWork simplify remote work, but it also makes use of remote work.
Work From Anywhere
Remote work is another big opportunity, especially for the IT world. Companies get to hire employees from anywhere in the world and let their employees work from anywhere in the world. Thus, they save lots of resources and benefit from the world talent pool.
For time trackers, including WebWork, it is much easier to allow remote or hybrid work as the company uses its own tool for monitoring the work of remote employees. That way the company gets to accomplish two things at once. They save resources by using their own product and get to test it organically.
Remote work also enables having employees from anywhere in the world and not worrying about their performance because of the distance. Due to it, employers can hire talents from any country as well.
Advice to Others About Business
Networking
Putting yourself out there is the best thing you can do to make your business known. Networking allows people and businesses to cross paths and create connections. When you network, you get to meet like-minded people, share ideas, get inspired, learn new things, and more.
Networking is the cradle of new opportunities. If you want to find new opportunities for your business, meeting people is the way. Remember, that when you network, you are not the only one who benefits, others benefit from you too.
Next time you make connections with someone, remember how you can be of use to them too. That’s how you create long-term relationships, through mutual support.
Most importantly, when networking, you’ll meet potential investors.
Don’t Be Afraid of Failure. Be Prepared for It.
Let’s get this straight. You are going to fail. At some point in your business, you are going to fail. Some things may not work out the way you want them to. However, that’s also how you are going to learn – learn to succeed.
Instead of being afraid of failure, learn to be ready for it. Most importantly, remember that failure must be seen as part of success.
As Bill Gates puts it: “It’s fine to celebrate success but it is more important to heed the lessons of failure.”
Remember to Motivate Your Employees
Your employees, whether you have a small or a big team, walk your business path with you. Remember that while you approach your business as your child, they may approach it as merely a means of living. In order to motivate them and make them care for the company more, make sure the company appreciates them.
Show that you see their endeavors and reward them accordingly. And remember that happy employees are productive employees.
The main aim of WebWork is to be a highly convenient platform for remote work, so that remote teams do not have to worry about distance.
