The Joys of Morning Sex!

The Joys of Morning Sex!

We all want to have the best possible start to the day. We want to begin our daily routine in as healthy a way as possible so that we are full of energy and zest which will (fingers crossed!) carry us through until bedtime. We may attempt to do this by drinking a pint of water, eating a healthy breakfast or having a quick shower with an invigorating scented shower gel…or we could do it by doing it!

Having sex in the morning before jumping out of bed to begin your day is a fantastic way of ensuring that you start the day with a smile on your face. That horrible period of time just after you open your eyes, you know the one; when you just want to turn over in your incredibly comfy bed, pull the duvet over your head and go back to sleep? Well, what if you could lessen this feeling with the promise of lazy early morning sex? What a fantastic way of waking yourself up and getting some exercise before you’ve even had breakfast.

And it’s not only an increase in the feel good factor which morning sex can cause due to a release of oxytocin, it is also reputed to be great for your overall health and immune system! A recent study concluded that couples who had regular morning sex were less likely to be struck down by a cold or bout of flu than those who did not. This is due to the release of an antibody called IgA which protects against infection. It is also worth noting that another recent study found that having sex a minimum of three times a week could lead to cutting your risk of having a heart attack or stroke by 50%!

Not only will these affects be felt while you’re getting ready for work, they will also last all day meaning that you may well have a better and more productive day as a result. When oxytocin is release it also makes you feel closer and more bonded to your partner, so the chances are they will be thinking of you for the rest of the day!

You may be sat reading this thinking ‘well, I just don’t have the time’, but you really owe it to yourself and your relationship to try and make time for sex. Do you think you could set your alarm 30 minutes early twice or three times a week? You don’t need to have a long and drawn out session; a quickie will do the trick! Many of my friends who have children say that they are just too tired to have sex once the kids are in bed, so this seems like the ideal compromise! At least give it a go before dismissing the idea.
