TRES LECHES (MILK CAKE) RECIPE WITH CBD

TRES LECHES (MILK CAKE) RECIPE WITH CBD

Tres leches is a fancy and delicious cake. It is a special dessert cake popular in Mexico and America. It is treated as a special cake used for certain occasions and celebrations.

Tres Leches cake has a simple recipe that will encourage you to try making it for your loved ones. However, you need to prepare it a day before your event. Preparation time might take up to two hours. The cake contains at least three layers: cake, filling, and topping. The filling and topping are done using whole milk, heavy cream, condensed milk, and evaporated milk. This is your perfect dessert for milk lovers. For better results, you need to cool it in a refrigerator overnight. Cooling it in a fridge gives the sweet ingredients to come together. It also gives the top layer enough time to harden into a sweet, easy-to-slice and serve texture. Cooley & Agrosinger (2016) translated the word ‘Tres Leches’ as three milk or three milk products mixed in a cake. It simply involves soaking several ingredients in milk, cream, and cinnamon mixture. It is such a spongy, fluffy, sweet, ultra-light dessert. This sweet cake can be modified into a more delicious and nutritious masterpiece by infusing it with CBD.

What is CBD?

CBD is a compound derived from the hemp plant. It is the second most abundant compound in the hemp plant. The most famous and abundant cannabinoid is THC, which Stuyt (2018) commented that it makes cannabis users high. Unlike THC, CBD will not make you high. CBD products are gaining popularity worldwide due to their many health benefits. Scientists are researching how various CBD properties can help treat various diseases and conditions. According to Silvestro et al. (2019), CBD contains anti-seizure, antidepressants, and anti-inflammatory properties that help treat chronic pain, depression, and epilepsy, among other conditions. CBD can be ingested or applied to the skin for different effects. There are various ways of ingesting CBD, including for those who hate its natural taste. These ways include infusing CBD in edibles such as cakes and drinks. Since Skelley et al. (2020) clarified the benefits of CBD for anxiety, most people prefer taking CBD in the morning to help them get prepared for the day ahead by calming anxiety. However, the time to take it may differ. Those who take CBD to treat insomnia may prefer ingesting it just before sleeping.

How to Infuse CBD in Tres Leches

CBD is a nutritious compound with beneficial properties. Therefore, it is worth incorporating it into edibles. Using a dropper, you can add CBD oil into the batter towards the end of the preparation process. Alternatively, you can use CBD butter instead of oil. CBD is highly sensitive to high temperatures and light. Store the oil in airtight containers and preferably in a dark room. Do not bake the cake at very high temperatures as CBD may lose its potency. CBD oil should be the last ingredient to be added since over-handling it may also interfere with its potency. While measuring CBD oil, use droppers to minimize spilling. CBD oil is expensive, and you need not waste it.
