UNUSUAL SYMPTOMS OF LIVER DISEASE

The following are some of the surprising symptoms;

Sleep disturbances

Many people with liver disease may develop sleep issues but may rarely think of it to be caused by liver problems. Well, sleep challenges are normally associated with different reasons, including anxiety, but liver cirrhosis can also be a major cause. It accompanies difficulties in falling asleep or going back to sleep. It is generally brought by disruption of the circadian rhythm.

Fatigue

Most patients with liver disease report fatigue as a major symptom, but rarely link it to liver disease.The symptom’s underlying pathogenesis is not clear yet. However, it could be due to changes in neurons function coming from message exchanges between the brain and damaged liver.

Using the acquired academic and professional experience, I advise patients with various complaints about mental health - depressed mood, nervousness, lack of energy and interest, sleep disorders, panic attacks, obsessive thoughts and anxieties, difficulty concentrating, and stress. In my free time, I love to paint and go on long walks on the beach. One of my latest obsessions is sudoku – a wonderful activity to calm an unease mind.
