WAYS TO GET RID OF HIGH CHOLESTEROL

What Is Cholesterol and Why Is It Important

Cholesterol is a waxy lipid compound secreted by the liver and is deposited in all body cells. Cholesterol can also be from dairy products, cooking oil, and meat.

Cholesterol aids in the transport and synthesis of steroid chemicals, bile acid, and vitamin D. The body also uses it to regulate cell membranes fluidity and structure by enhancing intracellular cell integrity or signaling.

Why Is Having High Cholesterol Unhealthy

The body demands moderate cholesterol levels for it to function effectively. However, in excess amounts, cholesterol can cause blood vessel plaque, a condition characterized by fats deposits on the arteries, which block smooths blood flow to all body parts and increase risks of heart diseases.

What Causes High Cholesterol

Your cholesterol levels can rise due to some poor lifestyle factors such as failure to engage in physical exercises, taking alcohol, poor diets especially consuming diets high in saturated fats, smoking, and overweight or obesity.

Ways to Get Rid of High Cholesterol

From my career experience, making these simple changes in your lifestyle can lower cholesterol levels;

•             Consume heart-friendly foods. Making some changes to your diet is key to lowering cholesterol levels. Add more foods rich in whey protein, fiber, and omega-3 fatty acids. These meals help lower the bad LDL cholesterol and the absorption rate. Add salmon, dairy products, oats, flax seeds, kidney beans, apples, sprouts, and walnuts to your diet while you limit your intake of trans and saturated fats.

•             Quit harmful habits such as smoking and drinking alcohol as they increase LDL cholesterol. Stopping these habits improves HDL cholesterol levels significantly.

•             Engage in moderate-intense exercises regularly to boost up the HDL cholesterol. Workouts improve circulation, clearing fat deposits in your blood vessels.
