Every once in a while people get curious about new sexual practices. New positions are nice, but sometimes you really want something new, something you have never tried before. Having sex in an exotic location, such as out of doors, is great, but much too risky to engage in every time you want a change in your sex life. Playing at fetishes is great, but you are still bored and looking for something new. I mean, how many times can you use handcuffs and maid outfits before the novelty of being able to fulfill your fantasies wears out?
This is the moment when people usually remember that they have an extra hole in their bodies, one that is surrounded by the mysterious aura of forbidden pleasure. Most men are very interested in the little puckered hole hidden just below that special area that we love so much, especially men who like to go down on their ladies. Being so close to that delightful part of the female body is a surefire way of becoming curious about the anus and anal pleasures. Sooner or later a finger strays to that opening, or the tongue slips a little lower than usual and the way is open for acting on your fantasies.
In a technical sense, anal sex is limited to direct penetration of the anus by the penis. This means that the entire host of anal play techniques invented by the imaginative human mind is not anal sex. Unless you have a penis firmly planted in your rectum, sending waves of pleasure to your brain, you are not having anal sex. The relaxed attitude toward sex we see in our time has allowed people to get into both anal play and anal sex, the traditional domain of homosexual men. Men and women alike have tried anilingus or used dildos, butt plugs and vibrators on their asses in order to make the most out of their sex lives, or just to satisfy a burning curiosity.
For a long time, anal sex was thought to be solely a practice that homosexual men engage in. The first blows to this widely held view were the studies published by Alfred Kinsey in the 1940s and later on by Edward O. Laumann, which proved that between 20 and 40 percent of all heterosexual males have engaged in anal sex. Closer to our times, a study quoted by The Georgia Straight in 2005 revealed that 30 to 50 percent of all heterosexual males practice anal sex on a regular basis. Which means they and their partners find it at least pleasurable and many times, absolutely fantastic.
Moreover, the data collected by the Kinsey Institute suggest that 35 to 40 percent of the women who have tried anal sex find it pleasurable. This is good new for all those men who are trying to get their ladies to try this taboo pastime. Actually, if the men is careful not to hurt his lady and remembers to play with her clitoris through the anal sex session, there’s no reason why the woman should not enjoy anal sex. Patriarchal attitudes about sex are pretty much obsolete at this point and anal sex, along with oral sex, is in fact preferred by young women who want to preserve their virginity before marriage. Not to mention the kick everybody gets from shattering the taboos.
Therefore, if you get really curious about anal sex, then educate yourself about it and get down to business. Learn the do’s and don’ts in order to protect both yourself and the partner from hazards and pitfalls. Regardless of how you engage in anal sex, there is a lot of pleasure to be had both by penetrating the anus and by allowing penetration. Just try it and you’ll be surprised.
