Why You Should Not Buy CBD Oil on Amazon

Amazon is well-known as an online website that most people use to buy products. It is an efficient and convenient website as it delivers the purchased products easily. However, below is a detailed discussion of why you should not buy CBD oil from this platform.

CBD or cannabidiol oil is a product of the cannabis plant. It has gained popularity all over the world for its awesome benefits. Some people argue that CBD oil can help reduce cancer cell viability. Most people purchase them from online stores like Amazon with several other benefits. However, this is prohibited since amazon does not allow the sale of CBD oil or any CBD product because it is believed to contain a controlled substance. A controlled substance is illegal. Moreover, Amazon does not sell products not approved by the food and drug administration (FDA). Below are reasons why you should not buy CBD oil from amazon.

Why You Should Not Buy CBD Oil on Amazon

There are many reasons why amazon does not allow the sale of CBD oil in its stores. These reasons are why users are always discouraged from buying CBD oil. Some of these reasons include;

Their Policies Do Not Approve the Sale of CBD

According to Wallace et al. (2020), purchasing CBD oil from amazon is not recommended despite its product delivery efficiency. This is because amazon’s policies do not approve its sale. The policies state that the products sold on the site should follow the rules and regulations of the state. CBD oil is considered a controlled substance, meaning it is illegal. However, when searching for CBD oil on amazon’s search bar, you will likely find a long list of hemp oil or hemp extracts. This can be misleading to customers wishing to consume CBD oil. There’s a big difference between CBD and hemp oil. VanDolah et al. (2019) stated that the main difference is based on the part of the plant the oil is extracted from. Hemp oil is extracted from the hemp seeds, while CBD oil is extracted from the whole hemp plant, including the leaves. Moreover, hemp oil does not contain any CBD.

It Cannot Be Relied Upon As It Is Not Regulated

Amazon has banned any product not approved by FDA. CBD oil is hard to regulate and can have major consumer consequences. Moreover, it is hard to find pure CBD since some brands that provide it do not pass them through third-party lab testing. The independent lab tests the products for potency and purity. The results are further posted on their website for the consumers to read. Therefore, amazon cannot post the lab results on the website. This makes the purchase of CBD oil from amazon unreliable.

Counterfeit CBD Products

Since amazon policies do not approve the sale of cannabidiol, most sellers have started selling imitations of its products. This means that they are lying to their customers or consumers about the contents of their products, yet in the real sense, it is an imitation. They do this so that they can make a profit as well as avoid being banned from selling their products. As much as it is defrauding its customers, Amazon cannot be put to blame because they have its policies. It’s just that the consumers are selling them behind their back.

Expensive and May Not Be the Right Deal

Most experts are selling CBD oil on a higher deal than the others. They sell them at this price by taking advantage of the fact that Amazon is a reliable and reputable store, and most people are likely to spend their money on the online store. Most of them do not have the ingredients on the product label. This means that you may be consuming a product without knowing the contents of the CBD oil and the side effects or how much THC content you are consuming. It is always better to purchase a CBD product with all the descriptions and ingredients listed. This will make you get value for your money.

Why Is Hemp Oil Available On Amazon?

The FDA states that a product is legal and considered hemp if it contains less than 0.3% THC. CBD is available in three types; isolate, full Spectrum, and Broad spectrum. CBD isolate and broad-spectrum have zero THC, while full-spectrum CBD has THC. Sarris et al. (2020) argued that THC has a psychoactive effect that makes one high.

Barrie et al. (2019) also commented that CBD oil is a product of the cannabis plant. However, hemp oil and CBD extracted from hemp are not considered illegal. The product has to be approved by the FDA. Hemp oil cannot make one high due to the low levels of THC. Therefore, Amazon is not against it.

Buying CBD oil online is a gamble. Since Amazon does not support the sale of CBD products, some brands have found a walk-around on the issue. They have labeled the products as hemp oil. This will mislead those who want to consume hemp, not CBD. However, those who want to consume CBD have the advantage of getting it through disguised hemp oil. However, you will not know if the oil is rich in cannabinoids to your satisfaction. Get yourself a high-quality product that will work perfectly with the endocannabinoid system (ECS), which keeps the body in a homeostatic state.

Conclusion

Amazon is a widely used online store. Most people use it to buy various products. However, buying CBD oil from amazon is not recommended. This is because amazon’s policies do not support the sale of controlled substances. Moreover, Amazon does not support the sale of products not approved by the FDA. It’s also not easy to find pure CBD oil from online stores. Most of them contain various substances that are harmful to consumers. However, the sale of hemp seed oil or hemp extracts is allowed. This is because the oils do not have a high effect on an individual. With the outlined reasons, you will better understand why you should not purchase CBD oil on amazon.

I am deeply convinced that each patient needs a unique, individual approach. Therefore, I use different psychotherapy methods in my work. During my studies, I discovered an in-depth interest in people as a whole and the belief in the inseparability of mind and body, and the importance of emotional health in physical health. In my spare time, I enjoy reading (a big fan of thrillers) and going on hikes.
