WORST FACE WASH INGREDIENTS FOR DRY SKIN

As a dermatologist, I strongly advise against using a face wash with the following ingredients as they can worsen skin dryness;

Parabens

Face wash cleansers containing parabens are not fit for people with sensitive skin. The paraben chemicals can heighten dry skin conditions by increasing skin sensitivity and speeding up cellular activity, making you more prone to sunburn or damaged by harmful UV rays. At times they can increase the risk of dermatitis, blisters, and rashes. I suggest you swipe face wash products with paraben ingredients for those containing hyaluronic acid as it can significantly increase skin hydration and moisture.

Sodium Lauryl Sulfate

A face wash ingredient creates foam and delivers the perfect cleansing. Sodium Lauryl Sulfate can be bad for dry skin as it worsens the condition by stripping the skin of its protective natural oils, causing irritation and other allergic reactions. Substitute this ingredient for products with ceramides and glycerin ingredients to improve skin hydration or moisturization.
