Glow with R.O. Fitness: a personal training business -Ramoni

My name is Ramoni and I am the owner of Glow with R.O. Fitness: a personal training business located in Los Angeles, CA. I currently offer in person training, virtual training, online workout plans, digital meal guides, and shapewear.

I was motivated to start Glow with R.O. Fitness after experiencing two successful weight loss journeys of my own, beginning in high school. During the 2nd semester of my freshman year, I began following workouts that I’d learned from YouTube videos and switching to healthier eating habits using ideas I’d found on Google. As a result of these changes, I’d lost 30 pounds in just a few short months. I was able to maintain this weight loss for the duration of my high school career.

A few months after arriving to college, I found myself putting most of the weight back on. During my sophomore year, I grew tired of no longer being happy with myself, which pushed me to begin yet another fitness journey. After losing the weight that I’d gained, a few students at my college had questions about how they could do the same. I agreed to train them at no cost, in exchange for videos of their sessions and photos of their results. They achieved amazing success following my guidance, and I posted about it on my Instagram page. After my Instagram audience got a look at the kind of results my clients were able to achieve, they wanted in. The only issue was that because majority of my audience didn’t live in Nashville where I went to college, I wasn’t able to train them face to face. So I began creating detailed online programs that they could purchase from me and complete on their own. And from there, Glow with R.O. Fitness was born.

Surprisingly, I didn’t face many of the challenges that new entrepreneurs normally face. Since I lived on my college’s campus, I always had clients and I didn’t have any bills to pay, so I was able to save the money I accumulated. But as both the business and I grew older, some hardships began to arise.

At the beginning of my senior year, I’d permanently moved to Nashville in an apartment off campus. I also had very few classes, so I wasn’t on campus as much I was during previous years. Not being on campus to train students was a struggle for me because I was forced to find clients in a city that I was slightly familiar with, but had never truly lived in. But after a few months of living in my apartment I became comfortable with the flow of my new life, found clients, and found my way around the city of Nashville.

One year after graduating from college, I decided to take a leap of faith and move to Los Angeles where I was faced with the same task of finding clients. But I was able to find my way just as I’d done in Nashville. Although moving to two states in the past few years seemed to be a struggle at first, I always look back and realize what a blessing it truly was. Relocating was unknowingly one of my teachers in life. It taught me how to be proactive and pushed me to find a way to always make things work. I’ve always found a way to persevere and that has heightened my belief in myself and my abilities.

As far as opportunities, I’m at a point in my life where I’m not really focused on bringing opportunities my way. I welcome what’s here and I’m always happy when an opportunity presents itself, but my primary focus is serving my clients and my community. My mission is to educate the masses about what it truly means to be healthy. If opportunities find their way to me through that, then I’m grateful. If not, I’m just happy to serve my purpose in the world.

My advice to a new entrepreneur would be to keep going. Entrepreneurship can be challenging, and it’s easy to give up in this industry, but you must keep going. There will always be information that you haven’t learned yet but remember that we are in an age where valuable information is at our fingertips. Google, read, watch YouTube videos, watch TikTok videos, listen to podcasts etc. Never stop learning about your craft or how you can improve. And as difficult as this may seem, work on keeping a positive mindset when it comes to business. That mindset will reshape hardships into lessons and lessons into future accomplishments.

Remember that you’ll make some mistakes along the way and that’s perfectly fine. I’ve made so many mistakes on this journey, but I’ve learned from them as well. Some of my mistakes were lack of policies, lack of planning, lack of boundaries and lack of self worth. Remember that this is your business. Always be kind to your clients and customers, but also be kind to yourself.

I’m excited to continue my entrepreneurship journey. I plan to keep learning, keep improving, and most of all, keep growing
