BURNOUT 2022-min

BURNOUT 2022

Everybody was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic in one way or another. In 2020 a time like now, hell had broken loose for me. I noticed the same thing with my husband and workmates. But now I thank God because most things are going back to normalcy. The good news is that I always hoped for it.

I noticed most workers are still struggling with the numerous changes following the pandemic effects. I witnessed employees resigning from work due to getting overwhelmed by difficulties of working remotely.  Others did it because of longer working hours and uncertainty about when they could possibly start working from the office again.

The stress of sitting on the computer whole day with more responsibilities than before greatly led to burnout. Furthermore, I realized employed women who are parents, complained of having worse experiences than men. This kind of strain has caused mental and physical exhaustion that needs to be addressed to make life better.

Sensible, practical advice on how to avoid/recover from burnout

Understand the warning signs

If you are irritated or critical about yourself, especially regarding work matters then it may be time to watch out. Some people may struggle to start off the day at work or may not be productive due to poor concentration. Others may have digestive issues, chronic fatigue, and sleeping difficulties that could cause work burnout. Understanding such signs can lead to getting a solution early enough.

If you feel overworked, take a break

Perhaps you did not go for vacation in 2020 for various reasons. But now, there may be convenience and taking some time off the work calls and emails can help. Overworking can hurt your mental health, thus calling for self—care. You can also consult and share with fellow employees to see if they may be going through the same. This way, you can support one another and get a better solution.
