Female Masturbation Class –  How to Masturbate for Women

Female masturbation class. Baulked yet? I certainly did the first time I read that little trio of words, and I’ve always considered myself to be a rather open-minded young lady. Compared to the flippancy with which the sexploits of our male counterparts is treated, the topic of female masturbation has always been hush-hush, only recently becoming an acceptable subject of discussion. All that’s changing though, with a masturbation-themed Tokyo-based bar named Love Joule springing up in recent history, vibrators aplenty on display behind the counter.

Shocking as that may be, I’d prefer to have a line of shots and discuss lubrication than find myself in a circle of strange women with a spotlight shining on my vulva as its inspected by an eighty-something woman. Sounds surreal sure, but an article by Rose Surnow gives us all the gritty details on a masturbation workshop in which women are taught such techniques as the ‘Tension-release and the ‘Rock ‘n Roll.

Run by 83-year-old sex educator Betty Dodson, this class aims to not only educate women about the pleasures of masturbation and how to achieve it, but also to get women to relax and actually accept it as a natural part of their sexuality. Betty is adamant on it being an important part of any woman’s life. In her own words ‘Orgasms have been very important to my life. I’ve always really depended on them. In a bad mood? Jerk off. Confused? Masturbate. Working on a painting and I’m stuck? Go lay down on the couch and have an orgasm. I’m all for that, but the methods of achieving that level of liberation are enough to make most girls choke.

All guests strip down to the buff within minutes of arriving and spend the next hour or so discussing the fine details of their orgasms, including whatever adolescent traumas they have which make getting their rocks off a challenge. Naked therapy is all fine and well, but it gets a little unnerving when it’s conducted in a dildo museum and in the midst of women infinitely hotter than you, in this case Betty’s assistant Carlin Ross. After Carlin lies in the middle of the circle and shows all the newbies how it’s done, it’s time for the rest of the gathering to put the metal to the petal as it were. If the thought of group masturbation weren’t awkward enough, Betty makes sure to highlight every girl’s orgasm with a triumphant ‘Another one down! Yikes.

What does sound like a potentially awesome part of this program is the group massage bit, in which participants take turns to be treated to a massage from no less than three women at once. Whilst that may sound like the beginnings of any man’s lesbian masturbatory fantasy, if you’ve been getting your rocks off in front of several strange women I think you’re entitled to a bit of pampering afterwards.
