relationships and attachment types for a positive, helpful online feature
There are four main attachment styles: Anxious (also called preoccupied), Avoidant (also called dismissive), disorganized and secure.
A person with an anxious attachment style generally falls in love very easily and doesn’t trust their partner. A person with this type of attachment style will generally take longer than others to get over a relationship breakup.
A person with an avoidant attachment style generally doesn’t fall in love and is far more likely to take part in causal sex. A person with this type of attachment style will easily get over a relationship breakup as they were never fully invested in the relationship anyway.
A person with disorganized attachment style generally feels like they’re unworthy of love and are more likely to engage in causal sex or may even have a sex addiction. A person with this attachment style will struggle to get over a relationship breakup easily as they already feel unworthy of love and a breakup further cements this thought pattern for them.
A person with a secure attachment style often experiences fulfilling sexual encounters. They seek long-term relationships and rarely engage in causal sex. A person with this attachment style will take a while to get over a relationship but not as long as someone who is anxious or avoidant. They are able to move on because they know their worth and realise that they will find someone else eventually.
