From a psychologist’s point of view, superstitions stem from culture and socialization. Most superstitions surround animals, numbers, and shapes. According to the ancient tradition, some of these symbols have protective properties while others are evil. For instance, black cats have long been associated with the dark world. On the other hand, most of us grew up people around the world grew up knowing 13 is an unlucky number.

In my perspective, a negative attitude can lead to bad things associated with Friday the 13th. If you have positive thoughts, your Friday 13th is less likely to be uneventful. The main issue is people allow their minds to generate thoughts that match certain events.

My research established that humans can think fast, slow, or both. We will briefly discuss the double-thinking model and save the rest for the future. According to this model, one knows their belief is wrong but still acts on it. Having said that, it is safe to conclude a superstitious mind can search for a meaning to blame bad events on.
