WAYS TO LOOK AFTER YOUR LYMPHATIC SYSTEM

How the lymph system works, what it does for us, and its role in keeping us feeling youthful and radiant.

The lymph system consists of several interconnected organs, tissues, and blood vessels to create a smooth channel or network of reabsorbing the lymph fluid into the bloodstream. The lymph system facilitates the return of the excess plasma known as lymph fluid after supplying the body cells with nutrients back into the bloodstream.

The main roles include enhancing the regulation of body fluids, absorbing proteins and fats into the blood from the gut system, creating lymphocytes that increase the number of white blood cells preventing the body from disease-causing pathogens, and speeding up the secretion of dead cells or waste, keeping us healthy and slowing down aging.

What can impede its function?

The smooth functioning of the lymph system can be impacted by inflammation of the lymph nodes, a condition known as lymphadenopathy, lymphedema triggered by fluid accumulation due to a damage to the lymph system, swelling on the vessels, excess lymphocytes amounts, intestinal lymphangiectasia, and Castleman disease.

What can we do to nurture our lymph system and keep it healthy?

I recommend you;

  • Exercise regularly and eat take healthy meals.
  • Stay hydrated at all times.
  • Limit your consumption of unhealthy foods, alcohol, and smoking.
  • Take lymph-boosting foods such as leafy greens, broccoli, garlic, red meat, salmon, bananas, and coconut or olive oil.
  • Limit your exposure to harmful products such as insecticides, pesticides, etc., to avoid the accumulation of toxic waste in the body.

Get adequate sleep daily to allow the system to repair naturally.
