Cannabis and Pain

Cannabis has long held the title of one of the best painkillers, thanks largely to its decent amount of cannabidiol(CBD) and tetrahydrocannabinol(THC). From what we know, CBD and THC interact with our endocannabinoid system, helping with pain, improving your memory and regulating sleep patterns. However, new research suggests it does not work with acute pain. How does cannabis increase pain, anaesthetic needs and opioid use after surgery? Researchers point fingers at increased tolerance. This means the body is excessively used to the substance; thus, it might function like the first time it entered the system. Of course, we cannot draw conclusions at the moment. Let us wait for further research on the topic.
