Facts About Menopause People Should Know About

Menopause is when a woman no longer experiences her menstrual periods, losing their ability to conceive. It is an inevitable phase that mostly targets women aged 40 to 55 years.

Why Does it Occur?

As women age, their estrogen levels fall. This results in less frequent periods, which eventually disappear.

Are There Any Symptoms?

During menopause, you will first experience a change in periods. This involves having a lighter or heavier monthly flow than normal. Due to reduced estrogen levels, you may also experience hot flashes, vaginal dryness, muscle and joint pain, memory lapse, and mood swings.

Do menopause symptoms Last?

Some women experience menopause symptoms 4 years after their last period. Since women have different body chemistries, I suspect others experience these symptoms for a much longer time.

Is menopause Treatable?

Luckily, you can reduce the symptoms of menopause. Ever heard of hormone replacement therapy (HRT)? Available in the form of creams and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), HRT increases the estrogen stores. As a qualified gynecologist,  I strongly suggest consulting with your healthcare provider before trying any treatments for menopause.

The work of a family doctor includes a wide range of clinical diversity, which requires extensive knowledge and erudition from a specialist. However, I believe that the most important thing for a family doctor is to be human because the cooperation and understanding between the doctor and the patient are crucial in ensuring successful health care. On my days off, I love being in nature. Since childhood, I have been passionate about playing chess and tennis. Whenever I have time off, I enjoy traveling around the world.
