How Pets Can Help Their Owners Be More Mindful

Pets and mindfulness? Absolutely yes! I have found myself more than a few times touching my pet, looking into its eyes, and monitoring its heartbeats as I feel my own.If you haven’t guessed it yet, this encourages mindfulness meditation-a practice that helps you stay in the present. Petting or cuddling with your pet increases the production and release of serotonin hormone. The higher the serotonin hormone levels, the higher the chances of experiencing a positive mood.

How Pet Parents Can Incorporate Their Animals into Their Mindfulness Practices
