Clean Your Ears

How To Properly Clean Your Ears

The best way to clean your ears (inside and outside) is by using a dampwashcloth. While you may want to use cotton swabs or Q-tips to clean your ear canals, that is not a great idea. Cotton swabs are ideal for cleaning the outside of your ears.

If the washcloth is not your thing, try softening solutions and oils, including baby oil, glycerin, mineral oil, and hydrogen peroxide. There are also over-the-counter wax removal kits, helping you choose what meets your needs.

Do You Even Need to Clean Your Ears?

Our ears are designed to clean themselves. So, you don’t need to clean them.

What’s The Latest On Q-Tips — Should We Be Using Them, or No?

As briefly mentioned, Q-tips are not the best when it comes to cleaning your ear canals. Besides leaving earwax in your ear canals, they can cause injuries.

Should People Be Regularly Getting Their Ears Drained, Or Only on A Need-By-Need Basis?

As a medical professional, I strongly suggest draining your years once or twice a week.

The work of a family doctor includes a wide range of clinical diversity, which requires extensive knowledge and erudition from a specialist. However, I believe that the most important thing for a family doctor is to be human because the cooperation and understanding between the doctor and the patient are crucial in ensuring successful health care. On my days off, I love being in nature. Since childhood, I have been passionate about playing chess and tennis. Whenever I have time off, I enjoy traveling around the world.
