Concentrating on their flaws or shortcomings will give you another perception that can help you lower your obsession. Check on the things that you hate in them or your potential partner. Don’t forget the tough situations they have put you through and evaluate whether you deserve to be with you. The worst moments define one’s true intentions and nature. Focusing on their flaws will easily help you stop the obsession as you get to know they are not perfect as you think.
Distance yourself
Being physically apart from the person you like can quickly change your opinion, belief and thought patterns as you realize they are not that important in your life. Change your routine or relocate to ensure you meet rarely with them to quit the obsessions. Finding new habits, friends, and having a good support system shift your thoughts and focus to other things that make you happy and help you restart afresh.
