POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION AND POSTPARTUM ANXIETY

How new parents can differentiate between PPA, PPD + normal life w/ a newborn

The differences between the two may not be big. For instance, people with PPA can experience scary thoughts, obsessive issues, and irritability, whereas PPD is accompanied by hopelessness and fear. Also, PPA causes extreme worrying levels but PPD overwhelms an individual with sorrow and an urge for self-harm or harming their young one. In both cases, the symptoms last longer and may not disappear without a solution.

Whether you can have both PPA and PPD

Women with PPD may also have PPA and it occurs three months post delivery. Though others may experience it a few days after. In short, it may happen any time.
