PLANT-BASED MEAT

PROTEIN FROM PLANT-BASED MEAT

1) What are your thoughts about the research/findings?

I think people should combine both plant-based and animal proteins to avoid missing out on the valuables provided by both food sources.

2) Why do human cells not absorb as much protein from plant-based meat?

Researchers conclude that the human body digests animal proteins more easily than plant-based proteins. As a result, they get absorbed more, and as much as the body requires.

3) What are good sources of protein (potentially both plant-based and meat options)?

Animal sources;

  • Chicken
  • Eggs
  • Fatty fish like salmon

Plant-based sources;

  • Lentils
  • Peanuts
  • Chickpeas

 4) Is there anything else you’d like to add? Thank you!

Yes. Animal proteins contain larger essential amino acid amounts, therefore, I recommend eating them in moderation to get what the body needs.
