Enhances sleep
The same way researchers recommend sleeping in a cold room is how having a colder body can induce sleep. Our bodies naturally drop in temperature during the night, signaling melatonin production, which triggers sleep. A cold bath directly reduces temperature. Even a warm one will first raise your temperature but later drop it after exiting.
Can reduce flu and cold symptoms
Perhaps you have a flu or cold and your nose and chest are congested. I always recommend a hot bath for the steam to increase circulation in the face and nose blood vessels, which loosen the mucus blockages. Generally, I love hot baths because the reduce inflammation by limiting the effectiveness of viruses.
Can improve heart health
Research suggests that warm baths can lower blood pressure, a factor related to heart health. Heat from a warm bath helps improve blood circulation, which is significant for a healthy heart with reduced risk of stroke and heart attack.
