WATER AND SKIN HEALTH

THE LINK BETWEEN WATER AND SKIN HEALTH

Including water in your skincare regimen can better your skin appearance and health. Water has numerous benefits in the body and plays a huge role in maintaining a hydrated, moisturized, bright and healthy complexion. Increasing the amount of water you drink in a day can impact your skin positively as it enhances inside out hydration, more fluids are absorbed into the skin from the blood preventing any dehydration risks. A well hydrated or moisturized skin implies that your skin is healthy. Dehydration impairs smooth flow of fluids, nutrients and circulation which can lead to a dull and unhealthy skin. To improve your skin and overall health, I strongly advise you stay hydrated at all times and drink water whenever your feel thirsty.

Water improves skin health by lowering wrinkles, pimples, skin breakouts, enhance moisturization, speed up flushing out of toxins, maintains a healthy pH and increases skin elasticity.

How much water you need for healthy skin

For men, I recommend you drink around 10 to 13 glasses of water while women should keep their daily intake at 9 glasses to effectively improve your skin health. People that tend to sweat more during the day can add up their water intake to replace the lost fluids. Avoid drinking excess water as it can lead to intoxication which disrupts normal body salts, impair kidney infiltration and cause dilution of electrolytes.
