TITANIUM DIOXIDE

WHAT IS TITANIUM DIOXIDE?

Titanium dioxide is a white inorganic powder pigment added in foods to prolong their shelf life and give it a better look. Its commonly used as a preservatives and foods dye to enhance natural whiteness in products such as candy pastries, or white sauces.

Titanium dioxide is also used in sunscreens to increase white opacity due to its effectiveness in scattering away light.

Dangers of titanium dioxide

Most researches show that regular intake of food products containing titanium dioxide ingredient can heighten your cancer risks as its possible carcinogen.

It can cause allergic reactions to foods high in proteins and impact how the body absorbs other nutrients.

Titanium dioxide can trigger Geno toxicity when the levels build up in the body causing damage of DNA cells which is linked to serious health conditions like cancer.

There are numerous food products that have titanium dioxide including candies. Eating candies with this toxic additive can be a source worry on your health.  I recommend you opt for products that don’t contain titanium dioxide. You can easily get other candies that are titanium dioxide-free. Limiting your exposure to this harmful additive can help avoid future health issues especially in kids.
