FOOD AND DRINK OR EXERCISE TO HELP WITH HIGH CHOLESTEROL

If you are looking to reduce cholesterol and improve general health, some changes in your diet can be helpful. For example;

Eat high fiber foods

Foods filled with fiber are good for lowering cholesterol. For example, ones with soluble fiber bind cholesterol and its compounds before taking them to the circulatory system for release. Others have stanols and sterols that prevent cholesterol absorption. I always recommend foods, such as;

Whole grains

Whole grains contain soluble fiber with components that directly reduce absorption of the bad cholesterol.

Oats

If you wake up to a bowl of oatmeal and a banana for breakfast, it can help reduce cholesterol levels in blood. Oats have soluble fiber, which act similarly to the ones in whole grains.

Limit intake of saturated fats

Low amounts of saturated fats in blood helps lower your low density lipoprotein cholesterol. It is best if you reduce consumption of such foods by limiting red meats and fries made of full-fat dairy products.

Take green tea

I always recommend green tea to my clients because it contains antioxidants, such as, catechins, which can reduce the bad cholesterol. Black tea also helps in the same but to a lesser extent.
