FROZEN FOOD

FROZEN FOOD

Which brands/ingredients may not be the healthiest and why

Vegetable oils

Vegetable oils made from cottonseed, corn, and soybean supply omega-6 polyunsaturated fats, which are healthy for the heart. However, they are highly processed. It is best to moderate their intake to benefit from them since excessive consumption can cause an omega-6 fatty acids imbalance, resulting in health issues.

Artificial sweeteners

Did you know that artificial sugars contain up to 700 times more sweetness than normal sugar? While they do not add to your consumed calories, I discourage them because they increase hunger for sweets. Why not cut them out completely or limit their use?

What we should look for when picking out frozen burgers to grill this summer

The smell

I always advise my clients to ensure proper storage when freezing food stuffs- using air-tight containers or bags. This helps prevent burns, moisture loss, and smell passage from one food to the other. Perhaps you have defrosted your burger, but the smell is off. Cooking such will be risky. Therefore, find an alternative.

Texture

Suppose your burger, which as earlier great-looking and vibrant, but now turned dull, please do not expect it to taste good. Yes, it is definitely safe for consumption nevertheless, you will not enjoy it.
