As a qualified sexologist, I understand heteroflexibility as being sexually attracted to people of the opposite gender and your gender. Simply put, a person who identifies as heteroflexible is straight but can engage in sexual activities with people of the same gender.

A heteroflexible man can be mostly attracted to women and nonbinary folks but engages in sexual relationships with men. On the other hand, a heteroflexible woman can be sexually attracted to men but occasionally engages in sexual activities with women.

How To Know If the Term Applies to You

• You are sexually attracted to people of the opposite gender but are occasionally open to experimenting with people of your gender.
• The idea of sticking with someone of the opposite gender does not entice you
• You neither identify yourself as bisexual or queer
