Initial Signs of Pancreatic Cancer

Initial Signs of Pancreatic Cancer

Loss Of Appetite and Weight Loss

Pancreatic cancer can leave the patient with little to no appetite. When one does not healthily, weight loss is more likely to occur.

Jaundice

Pancreatic cancer affects the bile duct, leading to increased bilirubin levels in the system. When bilirubin accumulates in the body, your skin and eyes can become yellow. Excess bilirubin can also cause dark urine, greasy stool and itchy skin.

Signs That Appear in the Advanced Stages

If left untreated, pancreatic cancer can spread to the liver, lungs and bones. Signs of pancreatic cancer in your liver include abdominal pain and ascites or swollen tummy. When cancer spreads to your lungs, it can cause persistent cough, hemoptysis or coughing up blood and breathlessness. Red flags when pancreatic cancer hits your bones include backache, weaker bones and hypercalcemia or high calcium levels in the bloodstream.

I believe that nutrition science is a wonderful helper both for the preventive improvement of health and adjunctive therapy in treatment. My goal is to help people improve their health and well-being without torturing themselves with unnecessary dietary restrictions. I am a supporter of a healthy lifestyle – I play sports, cycle, and swim in the lake all year round. With my work, I have been featured in Vice, Country Living, Harrods magazine, Daily Telegraph, Grazia, Women's Health, and other media outlets.
