RATIONAL REASONS WE DO IRRATIONAL THINGS

From my psychology experiences, I believe that the most common four coming up with rational reasons for doing irrational things is influenced by our emotions such as anxiety, insecurities, fear, and its human nature not to be consistent in their plans. Some are good at lying to themselves or have negative thoughts and emotions that impact their instincts. Negative emotions can trigger unhealthy behaviors that we try to avoid. Prioritization of the act at hand rather than seeing the gain in the long run and rationalizing the bad deeds with good ones is another common reason for our irrational behaviors. The human nature of being inconsistent and having rational thoughts as we evolve or develop under intense pressure makes us fail to know when we are irrational. Most people’s irrational habits are impacted by their emotions, instincts, feelings, pessimistic behaviors.
