RELIGIOUS FASTING

RELIGIOUS FASTING PRACTICES

Fasting has various mental effects, including;

Poor recovery from disordered eating

The goal of an individual seeking recovery from disordered eating is to reconnect with their body through tuning into hunger cues and offering the required food. However, if one chooses fasting, then the body will probably lose trust and distance itself from the intended goal-recovery.

Development of a severe eating disorder

While eating disorders lack a particular cause, dieting and other food rules are risk factors. If you lose weight through intermittent fasting, you are most likely to nurture a serious eating disorder. Therefore, regular religious fasting could possibly cause an eating disorder.

Mood swings

Hungry people are likely to get irritated due to neuropeptide hormone release. Lack of food for a long time also causes reduced blood sugar, resulting in irritability, poor concentration, and anxiety.

The work of a family doctor includes a wide range of clinical diversity, which requires extensive knowledge and erudition from a specialist. However, I believe that the most important thing for a family doctor is to be human because the cooperation and understanding between the doctor and the patient are crucial in ensuring successful health care. On my days off, I love being in nature. Since childhood, I have been passionate about playing chess and tennis. Whenever I have time off, I enjoy traveling around the world.
